Oof. Where do I begin.
We decided to eat there, instead of take home, and sat down. We ordered an eggplant dip, lamb platter, and tuna salad.
We paid, took a seat, waited a bit. Eggplant dip comes out in a plastic container. Right then I knew what I was in for. The dip was refrigerator-cold. The pita bread slices were few but they were warm. The dip itself was a little too "liquidy". We didn't finish it.
Granted, I understand it's primarily a take-out place, but with such a large seating area and the option to eat-in, I kind of expected plates and some basic silverware. To rephrase, for what I paid and how it came out, I felt like I was in an airport.
Then the main dishes come out. Again, salad comes out in a plastic container. The seared tuna is on top was just in large steak cuts, not chunks of tuna. So, if you wanted to mix everything in the salad, good luck doing that in the confines of the plastic container it got served in. The salad itself was fine, the tuna wasn't great. I basically put it to the side and just ate the salad.
My partner got the lamb platter. Her's came in paper dishes at least. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The lamb was tough and chewy. We shrugged the meal off and quickly got out of there.
Summary: Their salads are decent. If you want actual Mediterranean, there are much better options for better food and service, e.g., Chicken Kebab (Roslyn), Miraj (New Hyde Park) , Mediterranean Kebab...
Read moreWonderful local restaurant specializing in Greek/ Mediterranean cuisine. They also have a large of fresh squeezed juices available if that is your thing. The key word here is FRESH. Everything I have ever eaten here, from a gyro or souvlaki to an acai bowl has been fresh. The owner, Nick, is on always site assisting customers and helping to prepare the food and it's obvious that he cares about the product that he is putting on your table.
Comfortable seating is available inside the nicely decorated dining room. An industrial vibe with exposed ductwork on the ceiling and a polished concrete floor makes you feel like you're dining at a trendy Manhattan spot. As a bonus, they always have GREAT music playing inside.
On my most recent visit I ordered a pork souvlaki and a lamb souvlaki over rice. My order was filled efficiently and without error. The lamb was cooked exactly as ordered and the pork was well seasoned and cooked perfectly as well.
Ample parking is available in the large shared parking lot. The food nor the service has ever let me down, I would highly...
Read moreAbsolute insane experience. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 5+ years and operate in hospitality as my main role. I am no end all be all but the worker misheard my girlfriends order and when I asked after we got our food to pay for a new one. We got charged which isn’t much but when you mess up an order you don’t make a customer pay ESPECIALLY new customer. So now me and my girlfriend’s family will not be back. When the food was brought out to us(fixed item) we all said thank you and tipped but we literally got a nasty look with no response. After paying for the wrong item because of a restaurant error and a worker being absolutely rude for no reason. We will not be back. It sucks because the food quality is amazing but this one interaction would make it nearly impossible to choose this place over any other. You never be rude to someone when they say thank you AND TIP YOU! We tipped her not once but twice. I never write reviews but this experience genuinely made me write one....
