Advanced Marine Aquatics — Attraction in Town of North Hempstead

I went here yesterday and was slightly disappointed with the store.

Pros: Has a Good selection of coral

Location is close to where I live

They do have a better warranty that the Aquarium Shop Westbury. I asked the sales associate if they had one and he said that they offered refunds if the fish has died in 1 day with if you have a picture and water sample provided.

Sapphire Damselfish received was priced fairly well at 10 dollars. I would go to again to see if they had a fish I am interested in and the prices were pretty good.

Cons: Store is smaller compared to the Aquarium Shop Westbury, and was not as nice. The Aquarium Shop has a greater selection of supplies and fish both fresh and salt water. The Aquarium Shop Westbury is cleaner as well.

The prices are not listed on the tanks so I did not know the price of the fish I bought until I got to the register.

The store is not that attentive to its fish. I went today and saw a dying blue tang in the corner. A good aquarium owner inspects the fish daily and would have noticed. Updated: After a week the damselfish I bought died in 1 week in the Quarantine Tank that is treated with Copper. One day it was fine and the next it was not.

This would not be the first place I would go but it is better than Petco in terms of having...

Best saltwater fish store I have been to. My fiance and I visited many fish store when deciding our local fish store. Everywhere we went had one flaw. The front tanks were gorgeous and housed very beautiful fish, the back tanks, lights were off and fish were on the verge of death. I'm new to saltwater, I have a lot of freshwater experience and I watch tanks carefully before purchasing fish. The guys over at Advanced Marine Aquatics are the best! They're professional, knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. Every time I go there I ask plenty of questions. Every question I ask gets answered. Sometimes I even get wrapped up in conversations they have and try to learn from them. I tried to impulse buy a few things. They stopped me and told me it wouldn't work with how new my tank was and I should give it more time. It rare to find a store that tells the truth and are willing to lose a quick sale to optimize the customers experience. I will be doing all my purchases at this store. Thanks guys!

Oh I forgot to mention, the pricing is ridiculously good. They are rational hobbiest trying to share the joy of reef keeping and aren't trying to bust anyone's...
