I recently visited a quaint ramen establishment, characterized by its modest size. Upon entering the establishment during the evening hours, I noticed a relatively calm atmosphere. As I settled into the somewhat uncomfortable petite chair, a polite and amiable server greeted our party. Notably, the menu lacked visual representations of the dishes; instead, a concise description was provided.
For our appetizers, we opted for the shrimp tempura and sticky wings. The shrimp tempura, while skillfully fried with precise timing and an appropriate lack of greasiness, was marred by an overwhelming amount of sauce that overshadowed the inherent richness of the shrimp's flavor. Conversely, the sticky wings were prepared to perfection, boasting a delectable tender and succulent texture. Sharing the same sauce as the shrimp tempura, the chicken wings exhibited a satisfyingly crunchy exterior, encapsulating a robust and pronounced flavor while expertly preserving the juiciness within.
Turning to the main course, I selected the "Tokyo" ramen. The assortment of toppings provided a generous and aesthetically pleasing presentation. Moreover, the substantial portions of pork belly were noteworthy. However, I must express my disappointment with the ramen noodles themselves, which appeared to be prepackaged rather than freshly made. Regrettably, the broth's excessive saltiness rendered it nearly inedible, leaving me unable to finish the dish. With a total bill amounting to $65 + $15 tip for four dishes, I expected a higher degree of quality commensurate with the price.
In summary, while this ramen establishment exhibits promising potential, my recent experience fell short of...
Read moreWe came here for a lunch on Wednesday since kids had the day off for Lunar New Year. It’s been a minute and I’ve been craving my rice bowl. It did not disappoint. Literally everything we ordered (we ordered a lot!) was absolutely delicious. BART the manager and lone server was amazing! Best guy in town and spot on with recommendations for the new additions to the menu. He makes a mean Sour Plum drink. Forgot the full name of it. Kids and I enjoyed the new fruit teas as well. My son is Boba spoiled and wasn’t too crazy about the brown sugar milk tea but I thought it was delicious, just not as super sweet as the one he’s used to.
My fav as always was my crispy chicken rice bowl with the spicy pork on the side. My son got the same thing except with chirashi and crispy chicken. Daughter got the Tonkatsu Ramen and it was so perfect, hubby’s Dan Dan noodles did not disappoint. Our Apps were out of this world. I have to say my dumplings were by far my fav, and the crispy chicken buns a close second.
I can’t wait to go back but also I can the rice...
Read moreHands down best ramen near me and by that I mean, I will drive 7 miles to hang out here. Also love the Huntington spot but it’s too far from me and so excited MB is here in Port Washington. My fav so far is the MB ramen. The broth is amazing and if you want to go spicy, their very spicy miso hurts so good! You can expect thick cuts of chasu with your ramen and it’s so friggin delicious! They also offer other types of ramen with shrimp, chicken, tofu or veggie. All the appetizers I’ve tried so far (sticky wings, shrimp tempura, pork dumplings, crispy brussels) are all delicious and a generous amount that can be shared. The vibe is chill here and I love that they have a street fighter machine! I’m always welcomed here with a big smile and great service. What more could you ask for? Awesome drinks? They have that too! I’m a big fan of their yuzu cocktail or a glass of pinot gris was my choice tonight. Great food, choice of drinks, vibes, music, and service. A must try and...
