Will never revisit this restaurant again working in the business and doing what I do for many years it was the worst experience I ever had. We went back here in the mood for Peruvian food. Come to see the menu and it has changed. It wasn't a true Peruvian Restaurant anymore which is fine... I called to make sure they had an mussels appetizer. They said they did we have we went there just for this appetizer I sit down order first problem sorry after we ordered it. We ran out of it. No problem I said I called u for this reason oh I know but the table over there ordered the last one ok np so we order fried calamari instead when it came out, I asked her can you please bring me marinara for it she said what is that? I said the red sauce marinara she said OK by the time we were finished with the calamari we had maybe two pieces left so when she brings it out finally I immediately, noticed it was maybe Tabasco or some type of hot sauce they have she had no clue what marinara is so she just brought out that it was so spicy it look like it had to be some type of red hot sauce. I even put a piece of fried yucca in it just not to make her feel bad to think that at least we tried it since she brought it out, we tried it cause I felt bad for her. Them all 4 dinners came out at different times first came one then came a child's then came another child then came the last adults every everybody eating at different times !!!! And when ur a waitress u at least know what marinara is just saying , then fought with my friend on how many drinks she had my friend never in her life has drank more than two. They happen to be very good by the way the only thing she probably did right we only had three we charged for four even though she removed it. She still went back and fourth with us on how many drinks we had!!!!! my sons burger was cold. I brought it home for the dog. My daughter's food ordered supposedly Peruvian plate she ate a little bit of it couldn't eat meat. The meat was raw inside brought back to the dog. My soup was so bad. I've never had such a bad soup I'm 💯 Peruvian the soup is supposed to have rice and not cold lol omg wat a bad experience!!!!!! She never took it off the bill I didn't complain. I still paid the worst service I've ever had but fighting with me about how many drinks I had knowing what I had was the icing on the cake. The bill was about 175 still tipped !!!!! I will never ever go there again we go out every weekend we will never ever step into this place again. I wish the mañager would check the cameras and look and then message me to say sorry about how many drinks I had and show her the video just so she can see I would've never wrote a review. It's not my thing to do, but after such a bad experience with food after driving all the way over there for a certain appetizer fine but when you start arguing with me about how many drinks I have, that's where I draw the line telling me you have the dirty cups in the back to prove wat I drank and then you bring me empty glasses clear cups at least show me the mint leaves in it. She has no idea what she's doing. She needs a lot of training. I'm a manager in a restaurant and she has no clue and when you bring a calamari and you don't know what marinara is with that I say it all pío pío is by far the best Peruvian still I must say take time and drive an extra 20 minutes before...
Read moreWhen we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was empty. Empty on a Saturday evening? Is that a red flag? As my family and I were deciding whether to stay or not, we were burned too many times from these types of scenarios and were reluctant to go through that again. Then a lady from the back greeted us. Awww, what the heck? We had a long day and were hungry. How bad can the food be? The Google reviews were mostly trolls reviewing with low ratings and answered with witty and sarcastic replies from the business. Sarcasm is my kind of language. I ordered the Pollo A La Brasa 1/2 chicken entree with a side of rice and beans and ordered an additional side of maduros. We also ordered the skirt steak and chicken salad. The food came. The chicken salad was loaded with onions. There were enough onions to fill a plate. Must have been the market special with red onions. Wished it had avocados tho, that would have made it a bussin’ salad. But no complaints on the salad except for the mountain of onions and no avocado. There was also alot of liquid at the bottom of the salad, did not look like dressing, looked like they rinsed the salad first with water or something. Was a clear liquid, not resembling lemon juice and oil. But, that’s fine, no one died and we just poured the liquid out onto a spare plate. The skirt steak came with a side of chimichurri. My chicken dish was missing something. The Aji Verde sauce! I asked our hostess if there was aji verde sauce. Yep, she forgot and brought it out. I can say that the aji verde sauce was a highlight, I thought it was very fresh and not as processed as the aji verde sauce they serve at Pio Pio. The beans and rice are considered 2 separate sides, which I don’t understand, since it goes together. The beans was in a broth, they weren’t pinto beans, but a yellow bean. They didn’t use sazon to season it, but that’s fine, jt was still tasty. So 4 stars for me. As we enjoyed our meal even though there were a couple things that could have been an issue for another, but whatever, no one died and we...
Read moreI decided to place a Grubhub pickup order for two dishes at 7 p.m. Prior to placing my order it said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. So, I placed my order accordingly to ensure I would arrive in time. On my way there, the time was updated for my order to be completed at 7:30 p.m. No problem, I figured I’d just wait outside for a bit.
After arriving I went in to pick up my order. I was told it wasn’t ready and it would be another 5 minutes. After 5 minutes passed, I asked again and was told that it would be ready in another 20 minutes. After around 45 minutes of waiting for my order I asked for it to be cancelled (so I could receive a refund from Grubhub) the waitress would not do so. It was now 8:20 p.m. and I was still waiting at the restaurant with no food and no update.
This was such a negative experience for me and I would not recommend going here unless you enjoy waiting for hours on end for your food. If I hadn’t prepaid, I would have left. But I felt that the $88 I had paid was being held hostage. I hope the business owner can use this review as a learning experience on how to improve the customer experience and not overextend themselves by accepting takeout order they cannot fulfill in a...
