To Michael Hennessey,
As I've acknowledged, you have the right to refuse service as a private business, however, you have no right to accuse my ID of being "fake" while you continue to serve actual underage individuals as confessed by your patrons. (Unless you cannot differentiate between real and fake ID's, in which you should not serve anyone until you receive proper training)
I'd also love if you could elaborate on the belligerence your referring to, as our time spent in your establishment was no longer than 5 minutes long. We simply asked if you served food, you said no. Then asked for an ice water. We did not stumble, fall, knock anything over, destroy your property, create any mess, or speak loud and disrespectfully to you or any other patron in the bar.
Understand that it is perhaps you who must re-evaluate how you treat people working in a service industry, and avoid acting on feelings of bias and discrimination. That skill is crucial in your line of work. At your age, you should lead by example instead of picking fights with young women. I understand it is difficult to hear, but hopefully this constructive criticism will allow you to grow and be better as a person and...
Read moreI have never been met with more disrespect at an establishment in my life. I walk in and I request for an ICE WATER. he IDs me for a WATER. then proceeds to tell me “get out, this is the fakest ID I have ever seen”. I tell him I am a 22 year old healthcare worker and he says “in that case I’m a brain surgeon”. I could not believe the disrespect.
He then gives his name “Michael Hennessy”, which sounds fake but he is the large hunch back man with black hair and a scruffy beard. Avoid him at all costs.
He could have said “sorry we’re closing up soon” or ANYTHING else but to deny me under the pretense that MY ID IS FAKE???
When we leave the bar, we told another customer our story and he proceeds to tell us “I’m 18 and he’s been serving me all night”. Not sure why I was discriminated and denied WATER as a GROWN ADULT but I will never be giving this place my business again and I advise no one else to. Tell your employees to take a class on identifying fakes and how to treat customers. Not surprising to read another customer had a similar incident...
Read moreI and my friends (all of which are 21 and over) were turned away without a thought. I understand private places reserve this right and this is to be respected, but the inconsideration we were met with was uncalled for. After showing our IDs, we were immediately turned away. After we asked what the issue was, we were told “You heard me, get out,”. This was a very inhospitable and rude bartender. We hope that this isn’t the case for all the employees. But considering this place is notorious for letting in minors, we were stunned to be met with such resistance as full adults. To further be clear, one of my friends is a Pearl River resident. If the bartender can’t differentiate a real NY ID from a fake I question the professional nature...
