Quinta Steakhouse — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

This place could’ve easily been 5 stars and it WAS when we walked in the door. Started off great, food came fast. As we are finishing up dinner we are waiting for a waiter to come by so we can request a dessert menu, it was 8:20 at that point and they closed at 9. No one to be found except one guy sitting behind the bar on his phone. (Mind you it was just us and one other table at this point). There was one guy (who I assumed was the manager) and our waiter ... outside smoking right out front the windows as we are sitting and waiting at least 10-15mins for someone to come to the table as we sat there with empty plates. It was my husbands 30th and he was so excited I finally let him decide on a place for dinner instead of me lol. And I just wanted him to have a nice dessert on his birthday and these guys come back in, smell like smoke... who wants to order dessert at that point?? Having someone handling your food stinking of cigarettes? No thanks. Had they not sat right in front for everyone to see (go in the back... helloooo) and didn’t sit on their phones and acknowledge their customers who were looking to spend MORE money, they would’ve gotten 5 stars. The food was great. Management needs...

So I want to start off by saying I have been a repeat customer. This was my third time going there and probably my last. I have been to upscale restaurants before and the waiters are friendly. Every time i have come to this restaurant the waiters are dry and unfriendly. They just look miserable. The atmosphere is nice. If you are getting a meal stick to the regular. Do not get any special. The only thing special about the special menu is the size. It looks like it’s for a kid. We are not bug eaters or greedy. It says $19.95 special. Got the hanger steak. I wasn’t expecting a big steak but definitely not a 3oz. At minimum a 5oz considering its a thin cut and cheaper cut of meat. If you want vegetables instead of fries its an up charge and its very small. Thank goodness we ordered from the regular menu as well otherwise we would of stood hungry. Don’t get the octopus appetizer. Its mostly full chick peas and not really octopus. For the price its not worth it. The octupus is almost the size of a index finger...

I had the ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I was happy with that, but that is where it ended. Every time someone came to our table we were rushing to remember and relay everything we needed because if you forgot something, no one was coming back or even going to look your way. The level of service is McDonald's and the price of the food is steak house. The waiters also make the drinks. Once it got busy we never saw our waitor. My wife's glass was empty for a half hour. She probably would have had 2 more drinks but no one came over until they were bringing us our food. Then they quickly run away and she forgot to ask for a drink because like I said they make you feel rushed. Then we figured ok order when the waiter comes to check on us. We'll that never happened.
