YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR WEEKLY EMAILS SHOWING YOUR WEEKDAY SPECIALS WITH ACCURATE INFORMATION!!
This two star review is just for GENTLE GIANT BREWING COMPANY and NOT for Pan and Peel Pizza which is even better than the best New York City pizza and deserves 10 STARS!!
Ever since first going to Gentle Giant in April, I've been getting their weekly emails touting their Weekday Specials and their Happy Hour days and hours which are Monday - Thursday 2pm - 6pm and Friday 12pm - 6pm.
So, today Monday July 21, 2025, I met a friend in front at around 3:30pm and when we tried to enter, we found the door was locked and the brewery closed. The waitress inside noticed us and came out to tell us that Happy Hour was from 4pm - 6pm and not from 2pm - 6pm. I pointed out and even showed her the emails with the most recent being from July 17th, the same email which I've been getting for months every week, showing Happy Hour was from 2pm - 6pm which she acknowledged.
It was a good thing this was right after 3:30pm and not at 2:00pm, so we only had to wait just under a half hour. But, since this is not in my neighborhood and took a while to drive there, I wouldn't have been happy at all if we got there close to 2:00pm and had to wait two hours! So, in the meantime, we ordered a couple of pies from Pan and Peel Pizza.
Once the brewery opened and this was now officially "Happy Hour" and since I've never tried their Monday Special of $10 Margarita Pitchers, which my daughter told me their margarita's were very good which she had separately and not a pitcher, we decided to order that this time, instead of beer which I've had on my other visits. Although very good, unfortunately the pitcher mostly consisted of ice cubes, I mean a lot of cubes, leaving a little more than a glassful for each of us(two people). Still worth the $10 I guess but not exactly what you think when getting a pitcher of something.
Next time, if there on a Monday, I would just skip the margarita pitcher and get the beer which is very good.
If you don't want to sorely disappoint customers, I would update your emails with accurate hours asap!
Again, these are the same hours listed in your Weekday Special section of your weekly emails you've been sending...
Read moreThe husband and I first visited Gentle Giant about a month and a half ago for the first time, and since then we've been there 5 times. The food there is beyond ridiculous and the service has been amazing since day one. The burgers, fries, and onion rings are our go-to as they're cooked to perfection every single time we've gone. The wings reminded us of Korean Fried Chicken so if that's your jam then you'd love them. Even the desserts are top notch as we've already tried their Peanut butter and jelly bread pudding as well as their churros chefs kiss.
The main reason for this review however is to talk about the impeccable service we received on St Patrick's Day when my family and I booked my mother-in-law's birthday party. The event coordinator (Jean) was not only incredibly professional and attentive whilst planning but on arrival, he made sure that our entire group of 25 was completely taken care of. We had pizzas which to our surprise were insanely delicious, Rubens we couldn't get enough of, fries, onion rings, and burgers. Jean made sure that the food kept on coming and when any of us needed anything at all, he took care of it ASAP. Not to mention they were SLAMMED due to the bar crawl that sunday. We left there full, satisfied, and utterly impressed. It's been a week since we last went and we will be having dinner there again today. haha.
Thank you Gentle Giant for a great experience. Your bar has quickly become a family favorite and we hope to book our next family get-together with you again very soon! A special thank you to Jean for making my mother-in-law's birthday as memorable as we'd hoped...
Read moreNice location and layout. Food We had a rack of ribs, corn, French fries and some brisket tacos. I felt the food was passable, but it was not worth ordering again. The ribs had some decent flavor, but there was not a lot of meat. The fries were good enough to order again. Corn was cooked but dried out and still had the leaves and stringy things all over it. Drinks They had a good selection of beers, which included ciders and ipas. The cider, which they don’t produce, was overly carbonated and was difficult to taste. The IPA has some citrus in it that was very good. The building Nicely outfitted with picnic tables, a few TVs and board games. Customer Service Everybody was polite and professional. I asked for recommendations and was given great suggestions. Price Beers were $6-8 each and the average BBQ entree was about $8-12. Overall reasonable. I don’t think the BBQ was worth the cost.
Overall I think I would go back, but only because the people were nice and the...
