What a lovely spot! From the cocktails to the food to the service...everything about our experience last Sunday was exceptional. Between our family of 5 we managed to eat our way through much of the menu with the Elote Poke, Spinach Gome and Teriyaki Broccoli bites being clear winners followed closely behind by the Fried Oyster Mushrooms. The Elote is NOT your Abuela's Elote nor a classic Poke. It was a complex, mayo-free dish that left us wanting more. Although, I thought the Porkbelly was over cooked, generally speaking ALL of the Tako's were amazing and well thought out. Often, desserts can be an afterthought...Not so at Kantina. They were all delicious and provide a bit of whimsey. We loved them all but the S'mores, Tahini Buttercup and Zeppoles stood out (who doesn't like a bag full of piping hot Zeppole covered in powdered sugar?). The chef has created dishes throughout the menu the are multi-dimensional and fuses several culinary worlds into something unique and all it's own. The staff were pleasant and attentive and provided our Mother's Day with a special ending...I've already begun telling friends and look forward to...
Read moreCame to this place twice since my boyfriend lives 5-10 min away from this place. We found out about this place since we heard of Chef Chris Holland from competing in Chopped and Alex verses America so we were excited to try this place. The menu was different the second time we came so they prob have a changing menu. We really enjoyed the steak tartare, koji butter board, hamachi tiradito. My bf enjoyed the shrimp handroll but I thought it was okay and messy to eat. For Takos, we liked the sushi roll and korean short rib. The korean hot chicken wasn't as great and was too brown/overcooked the second time around. I would skip the dumplings since you can get better ones in the chinatowns of NYC for wayyyy cheaper (it also only comes with 3 dumplings).
Portions here are small, and that includes the drinks so I would say food is on the pricier end. Food came out in a timely matter and...
Read moreFlavorful bites and unique sips at Kantina! 🌮🍹 My daughter and I recently visited, and we absolutely loved it. From the delicious Spicy Salmon Hand Rolls, Chinese Pork Dumplings, and Tuna Tostadas to the Shiitake Mushroom Fried Rice—served in a cast iron and mixed tableside—everything was bursting with flavor. We also tried the Korean Hot Chicken TAKOS, Sushi Roll TAKOS, and Moo Shu Pork TAKOS, each one unique and tasty! Their ordering style is fun and different—just write down the numbers on the ordering card. The drinks were just as amazing, especially the Housemade Sangria, Miso Lemonade, and refreshing cocktails. We also enjoyed the decadent S’more Waffles, loaded with rich flavors. The ambiance is perfect, with both indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re around New York or Upper North New Jersey, this spot is a...
