I have to start by saying how amazing the Wayland Brewery and staff are! We hosted a retirement party for my husband in Wayland Hall and couldn't have picked a more perfect venue. It’s not often where your top three criteria (venue, staff & food) are exceeded and exceptional. The venue – I can only describe it as simplistic beauty. It’s gorgeous and designed so well that it can fit any theme. The staff - Wayland has a gem in Tara! She worked with me throughout the whole planning process, doing whatever she could to make sure our event was special. So, when that day came, she didn’t disappoint! Her attention to detail, and reassuring disposition, showed the confidence she had in her ability to put a nervous host at ease; through her experience of listening and executing. This was all I needed, I left her and her crew to do what they do best, and they did! Everything from the setup, décor and placement of special items was just right!
I am still receiving feedback on this wonderful staff. Our guests were well taken care of, even with special requests I didn’t know about - done! They allowed me to enjoy the party and honor my husband without worry and I am so grateful for that!
Shout out to: Tara for being any and everything to us! To Noah, Bella and Whitney, the best bartenders ever – YOU DID THAT – The smoked drinks were a hit and the vibe you helped create was awesome! To Jules and Caelie for their tireless efforts in serving us with nothing but JOY & SMILES – dedication at it’s best! To the head chef Jacob and both sous chefs Ani and Dave, thank you for keeping our palettes happy and craving more, the Food was DELISH! If anyone is thinking of booking an event with Wayland, don’t hesitate, just do it! Once you are given the "Wayland Experience" it will make you want to find a reason to book another event...just because! They went above and beyond to make this celebration memorable and special! Until the...
Read more05/21/24: I’m pleased to say that I am now updating my review because I’ve been back several times and have re-tried different foods. This time my experience was so much better and they have listened to feedback regarding the food. I had the opportunity to try the fondue platter, which was outstanding. Smashburger was another hit. I’ll be back to try more foods in the future. Glad they got their food game together. I knew they could based on having been to the Grange several times and loving it.
I so wanted to LOVE this place and was so excited to finally have a cool place to eat in Orchard Park. I will say the atmosphere is very cool, the service was excellent and the food was out fast. The drinks and beer were good.
Now to the food…so bland. So disappointed because upon presentation it was beautiful and looked full of flavor. It was so underwhelming and flavorless I left hungry. I got the hanger steak tacos which were very, very small and really lacked any kind of wow factor. My daughter got the taquitos…same issue; no flavor. The guacamole was screaming for salt pepper or something to pep it up and the salsa it was served with just tasted like raw tomato paste. The chicken nuggets I was especially excited for because of the honey and peanut sauce but the only flavor came from the honey. The sauce was really odd and zero flavor. Just so bad. No sides whatsoever served with the sandwiches. Not even any kind of pickle or pickled vegetable. The portions were all on the small side. I had the Eddie Money drink which was good. My husband did enjoy the beer. Great space and a great vibe. Im sorry I couldn’t have left a...
Read moreThe place looks awesome and they really did a good job remodeling. I'm glad they had respect for the existing building. To start, the parking is not well thought out. Crowded and difficult to find a spot. The neighbors in the old Red Door Ski Shop will not allow parking in their lot, even in off hours when it would dramatically increase interest to their own business. I bring up the Ski Shop because the dining area would be better suited situated at the bottom of a ski hill somewhere. You walk into a cafeteria-style-lodge-type-eatery with the dreaded shared picnic tables. The review is not on the jumbo-sized strangers who watched our every move and intently listened to every word we yelled across the table to each other. The acoustics are terrible. It's just loud in there. Very very loud. After ordering drinks, we looked at the limited Mexican mono-side menu and wanted to sneak out. If it wasn't more than water, we ordered, this review would not exist. The water was warm , btw. The food was unremarkable; just okay at best. I had a tough time ordering and did not finish the small portions of whatever it was I had chosen. I would suggest having a picnic table sale and replacing them with varying size intimate tables and have their architect address the cavernous sound effects. I found the locked roomful of vats to be very uninviting. I don't know if they give tours during the day but if it's always locked, they should add a second floor for the vats and utilize the wasted space for parking or dining. Over time, I am optimistic the Wayland Brewing Company will revise these fledgling indecorous...
