I have read the mixed reviews and I was very skeptical about coming to this place but I was on a kabab binge and recently tried a few others in the area, miraj, ravagh, and even medina, but I would have to say that this little joint was my favorite. I see some bad reviews but I had to try it for myself and I'm glad I did. I don't know how long I have been looking for some authentic Persian food and I think this afghan family has gotten it right.
It was hard to find but once you see it you'll never forget where it is again. They have plenty of parking and the decorations inside feel very authentic. We were greeted by the owner and she was very sweet and helpful with the menu. Afghan food has many layers of flavor and it was evident in their appetizers. We had the samboosa, hummus, and bulanee, all of them were amazing, I loved every bit of it.
Dinner was the best part, I went for the lamb chops and my wife went with the chicken breast kabab (she always orders the same thing at every kabab place.) This was by far the best chicken kabab I have ever had, it was juicy and tender and tasted super fresh. My lamb chops were recommended to me from our waiter who seemed to be a family member and he told me they wouldn't disappoint and he was right. The chops were so tender they fell off the bone, I loved the basmati brown rice it was amazing, I just wish they gave more. The portions could be a little better.
We also had dessert, both of us had their house-made ice cream and it had a touch of rose water and cardamon, interesting flavors atop some vanilla ice cream but it worked. Not only worked but I loved it so much I tried to Google a recipe and make it at home, def wasn't the same.
This a great place and I cant wait to come back again! HANDS DOWN the best white sauce around, I love that stuff.
My ONLY issue is the pita table bread. C'mon guys, have some fresh baked or toasted bread with the meal, it would be a huge plus and I'd give you...
Read moreI normally never comment or write reviews . I've been to this restaurant several times but for some reason the host felt today was a good to day to be rude. We sat down and left after a few minutes. As usual this place isn't ever busy. Typically we've only seen a few tables seated at most whenever I've went to this restaurant. Today my family of 4 and I went to dine inside. Since it wasn't busy we asked if we can just move to the other table which sat 5-6 people. The host said the table we have is good for 4 people... like okay I get that this table was meant for 4 people clearly I can see the four chairs. My father asked if we can just move to a bigger table and asked if the other tables are reserved for anyone else. She said no. Then after we said the amount of orders we wanted, she was rude enough to say "yeah I think that could fit this table." We didn't ask for her input but simply requested a table with more space. My family and I would have no problem at all if the restaurant was packed or busy or if the tables were reserved. When she begrudgingly said we can sit in the other table she made rude remarks under her breath about cost efficiency. I don't understand what cost efficiency has to do with anything if there's only 2 other tables being used. I understand this is a family business and she and her sister are the owners daughters. However that does not entitle anyone to give poor and rude customer service. After she took our order rolled her eyes and walked walked away, my family and I just left. I've eaten out at plenty of restaurants and don't write reviews even if the food is terrible. However, I don't appreciate anyone's rude and obnoxious behavior towards my parents for only asking to be moved to another table... when the place was empty. Not coming...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of celebrating my husband’s birthday with lunch at Kabul Grill, and from the moment we walked in, we were met with an atmosphere that felt warm, genuine, and incredibly welcoming. The restaurant has a cozy charm that reflects the heart behind it — it’s a family-owned business, and that pride and care truly shine through in every detail.
The service was attentive and gracious, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Each dish was packed with rich, vibrant flavors and served in generous portions. Since most of us were relatively new to Middle Eastern cuisine, we decided to explore the menu and try a little bit of everything.
Aside from the variety of delicious kebabs we ordered — each one flavorful and beautifully grilled — another true star of the show was their naan and hummus. The naan was perfection, (definitely ask for the garlic version!), and when dipped into their creamy, flavorful hummus, it was nothing short of heavenly.
Dining at Kabul Grill was easily one of the best decisions we could’ve made for the celebration. It wasn’t just a meal — it was a heartfelt experience. You can tell this family pours their soul into the food and the atmosphere. We left feeling full, happy, and grateful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for incredible food, warm hospitality, and a truly...
