Nunzi's — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Bravo!!! Nunzies knows how to WOW!!! We have eaten here 3 times and each dining experience tops the next, if that is even possible. Our first meal at Nunzies uncluded the sausage and broccoli Rabe egg rolls. Do you know the feeling you get when you taste something so delicious, it takes your breath away?? Well this is it!! These egg rolls send your taste buds to heaven and i guarantee you will declare this is one of the best things you ever ate! At least that's what we thought until we tried the pork chop. You have to try it to understand the depth of flavor. This pork chop was PERFECTLY cooked and it is topped with the most amazing cherry pepper jam and a delicious cipollini onion. It is worth the trip from anywhere, even out of state, to try it! Fortunately, we live nearby, so decided to go back shortly after the first visit to subdue our Nunzie cravings. This time we tried the parpardelle and Lamb. TO DIE FOR!! Boy does this chef know how to please. So much lamb with the best flavor of mushroom and pancetta oozing through every inch of perfectly cooked pappardelle. This same night we ordered the salmon to go for my daughter who texted is to bring her home some food. She said, mom... This is freaking incredible! Where did you go tonight? I told her it's a new restaurant In Farmingdale and it's insanely good! She laughed, and said, that's a rave review coming from you since you don't impress easilly... Lol. Readers, I promise you, get to this restaurant!!!! Immediately!!! You will LOVE anything you order. I could go on and on, but will end with this... the superb food is equally matched by the exceptional staff. Our servers were outstanding, friendly, warm, knowledgeable and accommodating. the owners checked in and chatted with us each time. They are so grateful for their patrons and really make you feel welcome and appreciated. They even sent over an app on the house the 2nd time we visited because they were grateful to see us again so quickly. The only problem is I'm completely addicted to this food! We will be back VERY soon! Thank you to all at Nunzies for an exceptional dining experience! Long island is so lucky to have this super star of a restaurant on the dining scene!...

So sad to write this review bc Nunzi's is usually delicious! I've been many times! The ambiance is definitely a chill upscale vibe, food incredible, service ...eh. happy hour is always on point! Get there early! Heres the disappointment...Went during restaurant week, that was the first problem! We were there 15 minutes early for our reservation and the hostess "already sat our table." My husband and I were like, how is that possible?! We wondered how much earlier she sat our table, bc we, the actual people, arrived 15 min early. Ok so she sits us in the bar area on a high top table with high chairs. We were uncomfortable and made reservations for a table for a reason. She didn't even check to see if we minded sitting at that table & location. Now, 15 minutes goes by we see the hostess get couple after couple and seat them at tables! We would have waited had she given the option and now it's our actual reservation time. Finally get a waiter. Service is rarely quick on any visit. This time 🐢🐢! Nice guy but... ok apps were boring... usually more flavor, muscles had sand. Entrees were eh... nothing to write home about. Risotto was bland and watery; needed salt & cheese. Apple pie egg rolls were the best part! Carrot cake just came out of fridge and was like cardboard. They also charge per seltzer! I mean your literally getting it out of a gun! You really need to charge per!? RIDICULOUS! totally get it if your using cans or bottles but a bartender gun, really!? This was my husband's first time going and he said it was his last. I don’t recommend this place for private events. We had a party size of about 40. My guests were coming from NJ, Queens, Westchester and LI. We planned a surpise bday party for my mom (11/17). Slow waitstaff service. Food is really good (atleast) but the servings were REALLY INSUFFICIENT. My guests were hungry. My guests requested drinks and more food, but at times their requests were either turned down or forgotten. I had only known this after the event when I got feedback from them. There were a lot of things that were promised to us such as the availability & convenience of wine bottles, soda, and drinks but that was not the case. I had to enforce to the waitstaff to offer wines/drinks to every table. When I rounded on guests, they were surprised it was open bar. They promised the availability of ala carte for kids or for any instance that more food is needed. One of my guests requested tenders for a kid. We got pushback from one waiter saying they don’t refill. I had to step in and insist that I would cover the cost for every additional plate added to the table! The waiters were most of the time nowhere to be found. It was just upsetting. I still decided to pay the cost because I did not want to confront them and leave the place in bad spirit since it was still my mom’s birthday.
