I’ve been wanting to check this place out to go work from, as it’s been rated well and not far from home. Went today for first time and I enjoyed the atmosphere, had a matcha iced tea with tamarind syrup (had them add milk to make it a bit creamy as it was more on the sour watery side than what I’m used to for matcha); my partner had an iced coffee. I will definitely return as I really would like to try their regular coffee, the place smelled amazing!!! They sell coffee bags there too, which would be kool to make at home if you’ve tried and loved the taste of their coffee. Reminded me of Gossip Coffee in Astoria. The great thing is they have plenty of outlets, pretty much at every single and double seating space. The tables for 4 in the middle of the cafe are the only ones without outlets. It was a bit chilly when we went today, as the back door was open to the outdoor seating, would’ve preferred it closed especially in 45-50 degree weather still. It’s nice to have that extra space out there though, esp when the weather gets warmer, definitely a plus. It faces the parking lot. The cafe overall is cozy and chill, great place to work, light a bit dim, cute decor, more of a rustic industrial feel which is my cup of tea. My partner felt like the seating was uncomfortable and hard, esp if going to be there for a couple hours to work like we were but otherwise, great place to check out and unwind at, over coffee or with a friend, to read, catch up on work, or just work from for the day. Today they were playing some hip hop music in the background, not sure if that’s the case always. They have some baked goods there to munch which we didn’t try, but maybe next time. Would return!

You know, flux coffee, interesting environment, they want to promote more than coffee, they promote artists, lot's of art on the wall, they have magazines on sale for the Long Island film club. A very prestigious club that will be highlighting a new short film called "Person of Color" next issue. They also sell film cameras, film stock, amazing coffee, slightly expensive but the quality shines through. I have not tried any pastries because I have diabetes but I will take some insulin next time before I stroll though. They do roast their beans in house, which was evident because I did slip on a bean and threw out my back but I am seeing a physio-therapist for the issue. I would recommend Evolution Physical Therapy for the problem. Amazing work they have done on reversing the physical trauma I suffered at this establishment.

How cool is it to almost trip over a few canvas bags of raw coffee beans while heading to the counter to order coffee? Flux coffee cafe looks like it was lifted from Williamsburg Brooklyn and dropped in the Village of Farmingdale, in order to bring a real dimension of what a coffee shop should be at minimum. Decorated creatively with pipe and flange shelving in addition to a nice seating area inside (outdoor seating too), Flux coffee will hit you up with an awesome brew, justifying the NYC pricing template. Best to park and enter from the back parking lot if you are driving as there is limited space along Main Street to park. Just look for the lattice wall and umbrellas when entering from the parking lot as it's hard to see the Flux sign. (Next to Lithology Brewing.)

I cannot express enough how amazing Flux Coffee is. As stated in other reviews, Long Island seriously lacks in the area of quality, local coffee shops with good vibes, good coffee, and relaxed ambiance. Flux goes above and beyond not just the Long Island area, but it is one of the best coffee shops I have been to, ever! To start the size is perfect for coming in and hanging out; there are plenty of tables, counters, couches, etc....and there are a ton of outlets! The decor (brick walls, unique tables, counters, light fixtures, art, etc.) is beautiful and all made and designed by the owner! The lighting is nice, not too bright or too dark. The coffee selection and baked goods are quality with just the right amount of options. There is also oat milk and mac nut milk available for non-dairy options...so nice not to just have soy and almond like most places! All the coffee is light roast...which is wonderful and the best coffee I have had in ages...we bought 1.5 lbs to take home! The music is not too loud and the location is perfect, not too far from the I495! Thanks so much Flux Coffee, you just made life a Long Island improve for us more than you can imagine, you will surely see us...
