9/2/24 the guy at the counter is so rude. Most likely he’s Punjabi. He has very bad attitude. I asked him if we could have salad on a separate container instead of putting it on top of the rice. We had to travel back 30 min, and it will become saggy by the time we reach home. The guy said yes, then after packing, he tells me we have to pay extra $5 for it, I said no, I don’t want it. Then I asked if I can get some extra white sauce on the side, he said ok, and gave it to me. I saw he charged me .50 cents for it without telling me that it will cost me extra money. I went to other Shah’s place (Hillside Ave) in the afternoon, they were nice and gave extra while sauce on the side, but this guy was rude while serving the food, plus he tried to charge me without asking me if I want to pay for it or not. On top, he’s telling me if can’t pay 50cents, then I should stay home and cook my own food. My family was there to witness his attitude, my kids were so disappointed at this location. We will never go there again. I asked for help manager to report about this incident, the guy standing next to him claimed that he’s the manager. Lol. I told him ‘please teach him some manners and teach him how to show be nice to customers’....
Read moreto the owner: get some qualified help at the counter who knows about customer service. food has always been good since opening, but service is going downhill in last last 2 months. i was there 2 days ago and i watched someone wait more than 5 minutes to get one of two counter attendees to respond to his request for salt. additionally in regards to woman who took my order, I only can only assume you were being kind to the mentally impaired when you hired that person.specifically 1) i could not understand her and she was speaking my language, english( i think) 2)no personality, 3)stingy with the chicken and even stingy with salad , 4) slower than sap on coconut tree( hedley's reference).

It's the reason that this 3 stars not 1. halal guys in li isn't the same and rafiqi's has not made it out here yet.but you should know the deal. 2 things make an establishment . Flavor has gotta be good, and you got that. but It's the person behind the serving spoon that makes the difference between...
Read moreI had the opportunity to dine at Shah's Halal Food at the Delco Plaza location in Hicksville, NY. The restaurant is very casual. The service was very good. I ordered the chicken over rice platter, that was served with lettuce, Israeli Salad, onion, peppers, chickpeas, hummus and their signature white sauce. I also added hot sauce. My friend ordered the falafel platter, The falafel was made fresh and was very good. It was not greasy and tasty. It was also served with the same available toppings as my chicken platter. The food choices are varied so that anyone with special dietary needs can dine there.
