Taqueria El Sabor Poblano — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

This place had 4.3 stars when we went there and that’s why we chose to go there. The food was literally disgusting. I really hate being a Karen but I’m fine with being one when totally necessary. I paid $38.99 for two chilaquiles and they gave me something that had no style, no sense of presentation and no taste. It looks like they used the taco meat for the chilaquiles and everything else was just thrown on top. The sour cream was watery and had no sense of consistency. At one point I really feared getting sick from eating what I ate and the service was not what I expected. Really enjoyed our tacos here. The chorizo was excellent: spicy with nice texture and flavor. The carnitas has that crispy, porky flavor so many American taco spots miss. Birria taco had nice beef, cheese, and consommé, but the tortilla was sautéed crispy like some other spots do. Steak tacos were good and tender, but it’s not the steak fajitas style tacos many American spots have: steak here is diced like many taqueria serve it. The food at this establishment is delicious. I had the chicken burrito, the burrito wrap itself was so soft and fresh I would not be surprised if it is freshly made. It’s not hard or slightly stiff as you might get at most other establishment. The churros were mouth watering good! How could I forget to mention the corn!! Oh my god it’s exactly as the corn you get at streets fairs. It’s a must. You have to try it. And kindly during this pandemic please tip, tip and tip.
