Black Hart BBQ — Restaurant in Town of Palmyra

I ate for the 1st time at black hart bbq today. Will be my last time.... I don't leave reviews. I only read them usually. Sounded like a great place for bbq. I have to believe this place really pays for their good review if possible. Don't go if your looking for even sub par bbq. Bland. Over priced and very small portions served in small paper hotdog containers. I had their Mac attack meal, my son had something else. Both with brisket. To be honest this is the worst place I think I have ate at in over 20 years. The smoked Mac & cheese was over cooked, no taste of smoke at all and cold and pasty. The Cole slaw I asked for on the side was the most horrendous thing I've ever tasted. Over kill on vinegar. I literally spit it out of my mouth into a napkin. Now let's talk about the movie theater nacho cheese sauce that they drench on everything. I have no idea who's idea it was to put cheese sauce on BBQ items but bad choice. Doesn't belong. The salt potatoes where drenched in salty butter but tasted like seafood. So basically just boiled potatoes. I would rather dumpster dive for food then ever eat there again. You have been warned. The food was very good! The portions are extremely small for the price. The prices were equivalent to festival pricing for the amount of food received. Everyone there was very nice, however when my husband ordered a dish and asked for no cole slaw, he was very rudely told that he'd be getting the Cole slaw. It wasn't pointed out to him that the next dish on the menu for $4 less was what he ordered minus Cole slaw. When the food came out, it's packaged to go even if you're eating there. They don't actually serve you your food, they call your name and you get it to take to your table yourself. My husbands order didn't have the Cole slaw. I asked for it so I could eat it and I was told, well your husband didn't want it. When I finally got it, the Cole slaw was in a small condiment container and had a horrible flavor. Pulled chicken was good. Smoked mac & cheese had no smoke flavoring, but was good as regular mac & cheese. The salt potatoes were very good with a twist, they smash them up and fry them. First time trying this place & it won't be our last! Absolutely delicious! We decided to share the Hart Attack plate since it had a little bit of everything on it and it was more than enough for 2 people! The pulled brisket was the best brisket we've had in the area! All of the meat was perfectly seasoned and smoked! The coleslaw & fried salt potatoes were absolutely delicious! The restaurant is small, but very clean & very friendly staff. The prices are on the higher end, but you get what you pay for! HIgh quality food and ingredients! We are so happy to finally find a good BBQ place in the area!
