Old Pueblo Grill Cantina — Restaurant in Town of Penfield

We have been twice to this location and love the service and food. Our server Dan was fantastic and so knowledgeable of the menu. I noticed reviews about there being missing menu items at this location. Well, our server was upfront about the different flavor profiles of this sit down style restaurant and makes total sense to me—they’re going for different vibes, it’s ok to have different food options people 😉 just go to the other location if you want that! The corn and poblano dip is out of this world and my chimi fried burrito was sooo good. My fiancé was obsessed with his pork platos. He said this has become his favorite Mexican spot in Rochester. Also they do free chips and salsa which a lot of restaurants have stopped doing and both the roji and verde salsa are so flavorful! We live for some complimentary chips and salsa! This place is amazing. I have been waiting for this location to open for awhile. Being a fan of the original location I had high hopes for this place and they did not disappoint. Suggest making a reservation for larger parties. The food delicious and on point at a reasonable price point. The cocktails were also very good. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food and drinks came out very fast. I would come here again and again. For all those hating on service need to chill out as anyone who knows about working in food service will realize that when you open a new location it’s gonna take some time to find their groove. This place has been open slightly over a week and I've already been in 3 times. The food is great and service is friendly. Both the birria tacos and birria egg rolls are excellent. Rice and beans are on point. Shrimp dorado and the pineapple habanero ribs were both very good as well. Don't sleep on the churro bites if you have room for dessert.
