Just had a breakfast burrito here that restored me from confused just-woke-up hunger into a functioning person. Delicious and much needed.
I’ve also had the lovely salad / bowl with radishes and such, and it was excellent. Club Sandwich is going to be my first thought when I need something both yummy and nourishing (and quick!). Can’t wait to eat my way through the menu.
The space is also beautiful and warm, and lends itself to conversation and community chatter in the way Murray’s used to. Feels cozy, clean, and cute, without feeling too chi-chi for me to show up in my overalls.
I’m also so thrilled to have somewhere in Tivoli where I can get normal affordable grocery items without having to take a trip to the supermarket for say, a lemon. I saw someone on here say that the prices for groceries are high, but if that’s the case, it’s not because this is an inaccessible boutique-y place… it’s because groceries everywhere right now are so expensive. In fact I think I spotted deals here that are better than the big supermarkets. Where else can you grab a cold beer for like… $2?
I’m so happy the owners of Club Sandwich have given Tivolians an informal spot to sit down with friends, get a hearty bite, and/or pick up a candy bar. A much needed and highly welcome addition...
Read moreI was really rooting for Club Sandwich, but I've been disappointed even as I've visited multiple times. Listen, things are expensive these days, and hats off to them for selling normal beer, those grab-and-go sandwiches (so good!!!) and cigarettes. Unfortunately, these sandwiches are uniquely small, and adding avocado? $2. And they give you maybe 1/4 of an avocado. Adding bacon? $2. And they give you literally 1.5 little pieces of bacon. I don't know if this is a BOH thing or part of the actual instructions for the recipes, but... I expect to get ripped off for avocado. Bacon??? The iced coffee is solid, but their espresso is a little dark for my taste, and has also been consistently under-extracted every time i've ordered an espresso drink: sort of sour. Again, not sure if this is the issue of training the baristas or of their coffee specs. Club Sandwich isn't doing anything to stand out from all the other cafes in the Hudson valley that are doing the same thing with the same interior design choices etc etc. I sincerely wish them the best but...be prepared to spend $16 on a small and underwhelming sandwich.
Edit: going from 3/5 to 1/5. gave it a few more tries. Worse each time. Sorry! Why is the wait so long? Who is...
Read morePerfect for visitors from Manhattan who are accustomed to paying over 14 dollars for a cold sandwich made on wonderbread and 6 for a burned, raw egg sandwich where bacon is extra and ketchup is the default (no hate to ketchup and egg enjoyers, but it's just not popular enough to include without asking). Coffee was like 4 bucks for a small iced coffee, was pretty sour so you could tell it was stale. Get it while you can, it soon will likely go the way of its predecessor in this building and most of these bored-rich-person-turned-chef restaurants that...
