[[Update from restaurant's response]]
Tone deaf responses don't make the food or the overt racism any less noticeable. As others have pointed out, the food is based, the racism is worse. LOL, your book "recommendation".
Went there while staying in Tivoli. Upon walking in for dinner, a white older woman decided that getting a table for dinner required that I give my first and last name AND my phone number which she explained was "in case I left anything and the restaurant could get in touch with me". Funny thing is, on the same page where she wrote my "required" information, no other guests before me had that information written down. Funny, I guess only brown people require that we leave our information in case we leave our possessions behind. Are we more prone to forgetfulness or is there something else color-specific going on?
Let's get to the food.
As others have noted, completely underwhelming for the price of the meal. Squash blossoms were overcoated and bland. The mussels had much too much saffron to the point that that was the only flavor.
Service...
Our server, bless her heart, tried her best but honestly, I didn't know why she chose hospitality as her profession because she couldn't remember how to take a drink order, got confused about bread for the table, didn't understand basic questions about portion size of the entrees, didn't know how to pronounce affogato (which I wasn't sure why she was trying to get us to order), and overall just kept disappearing when we had questions about anything.
Don't go here. They seem to have some sort of issue with any clientele that isn't color-appropriate to suggesting that they need your phone number when all the less swarthy types have much better memory at remembering their belongings at the restaurant.

Read moreThank you so much for a fantastic dinner experience! Of all the aspects of our 3-day conference, I received more compliments on The Corner experience than anything else. I’m so jealous!!!!
Our “happy hour” at the bar was so pleasant! Your bartender was sociable and attentive, and we had a lot of fun when she took our group photos. The Chatham Dry Irish Stout was superb. Well chilled and served in a tumbler. I’ll be back just to have another one of those.
Your décor is always captivating and a conversation starter. The place settings were exquisite and made everyone feel special.
The service was spot-on: two servers plus yourself was a perfect number; food and drinks were so professionally served – warm, with a smile and happy to help with a special request.
And, it almost goes without saying, the food was artful and delicious! People raved about the shrimp bisque and kale salad. Even those of us with more conservative palates were delighted to enjoy chef’s spicy rendition of spaghetti. I had the fish of the day which was excellent. And I keyed on the Spaniard in our group (she had recently returned from vacation back home) and noted that she also had the fish and was duly impressed. Dessert put us in chocolate heaven. Everybody left happy, satisfied and complimenting me for choosing The Corner.
My hearty compliments to Chef! And to you and your wonderful team of hospitality professionals.

Read moreWe've been coming to this restaurant since 2019, and we've always enjoyed the hospitality. It is one of the reasons we keep returning. However, this time, we found that the food was a bit too salty. Both the fries and the tagine had an overwhelming amount of salt. When we mentioned our concerns, the staff member assured us she would inform the chef, but unfortunately, we did not hear any follow-up.
We understand it was a busy night, and we genuinely want the restaurant to thrive. We've always had positive experiences here, including occasional overnight stays, and we're hopeful that this feedback might be of interest to the management team. Again, our servers were all...
