Wish I could have tried the food, but I didn't get the chance. At least not if I didn't want to be treated rudely any more than I already was.

My son and I stopped in last Sunday morning (8/27/23) at about 9 AM. There was a crowd, but not too busy. There were several empty tables, and we chose one for two people close to the entrance. The hostess brought over two waters and I had a question about some items on the menu. As soon as I started to ask the hostess cut me off, snapping to me that she was NOT waitstaff and that someone will be over to my table shortly. After delivering this rude lecture, she compounded the mood by rolling her eyes and wearing an exasperated expression - as if I'd been pestering her repeatedly instead of not even asking a full question.

I didn't want to stick around to see if the waitstaff was going to match that energy. We left immediately after that exchange.

Spotted Cow, your food seems to garner rave reviews and you certainly looked like a great atmosphere. But please speak to that hostess about her poor customer service. Being curt is one thing, especially if you've had a busy morning with no breaks. Being abusive is...

The Spotted Cow Café in Roscoe is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home — incredibly welcoming and helpful, even with our large party. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

The food? Simply outstanding. It honestly beats any diner within 100 miles of the area. If you’ve been to the Roscoe Diner, I highly recommend skipping it this time and coming here instead — you’ll be glad you did.

The blueberry pancakes are to die for: fluffy, fresh, and loaded with blueberries. Pair that with one of their specialty coffees (they have a huge variety) and you’ve got the perfect meal.

This spot is cozy, charming, and truly delivers on both food and service. If you’re in Roscoe or just passing through, make sure to stop at the Spotted Cow Café — it’s a must-visit!

For a party of five it ended up being ...

Holy cow!!! This place was soooo lovely!!!! To start - upon walking in the interior was so clean and had the cutest decor, and the relaxing music they had on with chirping birds was such a nice touch! The iced chai latte was one of the best I’ve ever had - and this is coming from an iced chai connoisseur! I ordered the eggs Benedict and boy was I in for a treat! It was hands down THE BEST eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and i also happen to be an eggs Benedict connoisseur. I loved that it was made on a biscuit. The food was all so fresh and the Canadian bacon had a nice Smokey flavor. You can tell it’s all farm to table - super fresh super tasty. All tasted very well homemade. And lastly but certainly not least, the employees were super super sweet!!! If you’re in the area you need to check this...

We came to this town to celebrate our friends’ birthday and stopped by this café to buy cakes, desserts, and coffee for the occasion. Unfortunately, when we got home, we discovered that one of the cakes had visible mold on it. We went back to return the spoiled cake and didn’t even ask for a refund — just wanted to get some coffee instead. But the woman working there didn’t apologize, showed no intention of making things right, and treated us with a cold, dismissive attitude. She didn’t even want to properly serve the coffee. Mistakes can happen, but basic customer respect and decency shouldn’t be optional. This really put a damper on what was supposed to be a joyful day.
