All things considered, this place is do-able for lunch if you are out of other options. Greek is more of a suggestion here than the choice cuisine. The wait was damn long, and the service was very slow, however the waitress was very nice and seemed to be busy doing her job. Ok now the food, #1 dip platter was a disappointment, our group particularly did not care for the babaganoush, some of my friends said it was sewer adjacent. I think the hummus tastes fresh which was good but it was a bit mild for my palette. I had the lamb gyro, i honestly can not be sure it was actually lamb? Also it was slapped with tzatziki sauce and made it very messy to eat. The flavor was meh. Finally the one thing i thought would be the least contested is the greek salad. In the other reviews it looks proper and authentic, but ours had a lot romaine lettuce, and this entire experience makes me question if anyone has been to Greece or or is the food being catered to an americana centric...
Read moreWe were in Livingston Manor and my son found this place on google maps and wanted to try it. It looks modest from the outside and we weren’t sure what to expect when we got there. It smelled amazing when we walked in and we could already tell it was going to be good. We had the skordalia garlic dip to start and it was amazing.m - the pitas were soft and satisfyingly chewy. Plan to avoid people for the next 24 hours because you will reek of garlic and it’s sooo worth it. We also tried the pork and chicken souvlaki platter and gyro and everything was delicious. Even the side salad had homemade dressing that was so good we ate it all. It was also fun to drink mythos beer again, which we haven’t had since being in Greece. We finished with some baklava that was perfectly sweet, flaky, and sticky - just the way it should be. We had a great meal and already can’t wait to go back next time we are in...
Read moreTwo of us stopped in for a beer and something to nosh on in the middle of the afternoon, and were delighted. Some very traditional Greek food like gyro, spanikopita and baklava, some dishes we'd not heard of (so a chance to experiment a bit), along with some more American standards. Beer and wine is available, including two Greek pilsner-style beers that were delicious and refreshing. The owners were very welcoming and great to talk with, and the food was tasty and well prepared. We ordered and shared the fried calamari, a mousse dip made with fish roe, and a gyro, plus a couple of beers each. Nothing fancy, just good food and plenty of it at a moderate price. We paid about $75 including a generous tip, which seemed reasonable. Quiet Greek music playing in the background. We enjoyed ourselves, and would return. A very nice surprise for so small and remote a village. ...
