Brine Barrel a must try. Park right in front of the shop. Matt is really nice. He keeps busy makin those sandwiches!! The sandwiches are top noche!! Highest quality meats and cheeses. The pickles and olives are amazing , half sours are my favorite. Matt the owner also has Sweet hot Horsradish which tastes amazing on homemade Burgers!! I drive 45 minutes to eat lunch at this place when I can. I usually get the Pastrami on Rye, with swiss and thousand island dressing lightly toasted. Ohhh man it is to die for!! Matt also has a menu filled with specialty sandwiches. Including the old world. The old World is my husbands favorite!! The italian sub is both my daughters favorites and he makes a mean plain Bolgna and cheese sandwich for my little guy 5yrs old. He doesn't skimp on the meats. Garlic Stuffed olives and olive Tapenade a kind of Olive salad that is great on a lot of things including plain ritz crackers. 😀 When ever we host parties or picnics we get party platters from Brine Barrel including the Pickle/ Olive platters!! Brine Barrel is my exact favorite kind of shop. Most places try to offer a million and a half different things and do most of them okay.

Not Brine Barrel. He does like 10 things, and they are all fantastic.

The pickles will absolutely destroy anything mass produced. You don't know what you are missing until you have had hand made small batch.

The pepper shooters are absolutely must-try. An explosion of savory salty flavors.

The sandwiches are good quality, and really well thought out on how much of each ingredient they have. He cuts the more expensive cured meats thick which makes a huge difference to the texture.

Great little store, tucked away in the side streets of Saugerties NY. Father’s Day weekend 2020, we found the Brine Barrel out of desperation, 3 months into covid, nothing was open. We returned this year because of how fantastic it was. The sandwich’s and pickles are amazing. The Old World, is out of this world, I’m a paisan from Long Island and this is one of the best Italian Heros I’ve ever eaten. My wife had the Chief Turkey which was pretty dam good as well.
