This is a small but pleasant Park on the Esopus creek. There are some picnic tables, a grassy area, and a kayak launch. It's a hand carry from the parking lot. You can't backup from a boat ramp, but it's not too bad of a carry. When you turn left from the boat launch, it's a short paddle to the waterfall and Dam. You would not be able to access this view from another location. Then we kayaked out out past the marina, to the old lighthouse (now a State Park) on the left, then upstream into the Hudson River. The current was not strong, and it was easy to paddle. There was one barge coming down but we stayed far away, and there was no other boat traffic. It made quite a pleasant afternoon.
