My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. After a nice local hang out session with friends, we decided on to go this this so called "Bar&Grill". Seemed nice neat tidy, heard about it before and a couple friends even mentioned that the place was "SPECTACULAR" as far as food goes. The wait for seating did not take long which was fine (There was 5 of us. Cant expect to immediately seat 5 during peak hours). Upon sitting, it was 8:30 pm. The hostess, Sky stated she's still kind of new, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt by being no so crucial on her job performance. So after being told that half the items are not actually on the bar menu or being tapped out, (Tuesday night) we finally figured out drinks. I drank a not-so-dry cider by Brooklyn Cider House, the drink was pretty nice. It was crisp and refreshing and a nice start to the experience. So the hostess does a couple more passes as more people get seated fine. So, I might be too crucial at this point, but our server/hostess, Sky was far beyond outgoing and at some points seemed like she needed to come back down to Earth. She was going everywhere and nowhere at the same time. In fact, at one point while waiting for my food, I went outside to get some air and she was singing "Girls just want to have fun" by, Cindi Lauper to paying customers. I digress, about 15-20 minutes pass and we've yet to place our food order. We reviewed the menu items numerous times, and were ready to place our order. At this point it's closing in on 9:00. We finally order our food, now mind you, people that were ahead if us were finishing up their meals so we felt that our order should be a speedy process. We were wrong. Our group ordered, A seaweed salad (That was not made upon one of my friends bringing up, making the dinner wait last even longer) 3 shrimp Po boy sandwiches, a sausage shrimp and chicken dish, and fish and chips. I'll leave the appetizers out of the mix because they ended up being decent, but not in a timely fashion. Ultimately, by the time we began eating was 9:45. People came into the restaurant after us ordered food, ate their food paid and left. That's as serious long wait for 5 people's orders in which 3 were SHRIMP PO BOYS. The food was so underwhelming a stop at Burger King on the way home was actually necessary. The fish and chips my friend remarked was a lot smaller than last ordered. He had a small serving of fish, no chips because they "were out" of french fries? (Slice up potatoes and fry them?) My other friend got this plate that consisted of sausage, shrimp, and chicken in some sauce with rice. He remarked it was bland the rice was cold and did not satisfy. Mind you, this friend of mine usually eats what he orders regardless of plate size, if he leave food on the plate, it's an actual problem. He left 3/4 of the food on this plate. Clearly it was not good. On to the PO Boys. If you're willing to pay $16 for 5 frozen jumbo shrimp that was lightly grilled, tossed on a bed of romaine lettuce. With carrots and overpowering horseradish sauce and served to you cold? This is your kinda sandwich. The only redeemable part of going to this "Restaurant" is the good times my friends and I had complaining about the food and overall service. I would give this place a "Don't go here and buy cheaper at most filling food from Burger...
Read moreThe pig use to be great for a more alternative crowd n for locals that weren't sports bar mirabelles,Stella station conservative white sporty bimbo bro type football jock type people. But it's gone down hill once they took out pool table and all and have NO open mics or music in the window or back room and the owner says he's not into that but it be amazing! Bluegrass and folk n rock all in there! Would be great. They don't even have a juke box just their music picks. It was great when they had burger Wednesdays for 5 bucks a burger and side! All the locals would go then it went up to 6 or 6.50 plus tip but was great! They got rid of that and all the cool people stopped going to the pig. The o owner mostly hires young girls such to work the bar. It is still one of the better spots in Saugerties due to us having a lack of a good punk rock dive or any alternative venues or bars with music 😓 we mostly have sports bars that draw in a boring bland mainstream normal type crowd. Woodstock and Kingdom have more...
Read moreStopped in here because I was too late to get dinner at the Dutch, which I'd been to before, before it closed on a Sunday night. Vibe was nice but not fancy. The lone bartender (Angelina?) was also doing table service. I had a Tully and a few beers. The standard pour was half-pints, which honestly I kinda dig. I ordered a steak sandwich rare, with mac & cheese on the side. It was so good. I had the mac first and it was so rich and cheesy, like good proper cheese flavor. Definitely NY cheddar. She asked if I wanted hot sauce and I was presented with two varieties of Ric Orlando's hot sauces, which I understand is a local company. The Dirty Blonde elevated the mac from great to phenomenal. I could've eaten a gallon of it. The steak was a lovely reddish-pink and was seasoned subtly but excellently. There was a garlic element that was great too, and the habanero cheese worked well. All in all just a fantastic meal out. Literally my only complaint is that it was a bit...
