Regular burger place. The food is good but the service and policies are not. First off, they supposedly offer take out which is blasted on their websites and store locations however it’s only available online through their website and app. You cannot call and place a take out order, only online is available for pick up. I then proceed to order in store, they have a lunch special, burger fries and a soft drink. I asked would they substitute the soft drink for a milk shake, obviously with an up charge. I was told no they do not do that, which was not an issue to me but goes to show their inability to accommodate a simple customer request. Now what I really have an issue with is their policy in regards to the points rewards program through their app. I racked up enough points for a free item throughout multiple times of ordering lunch from buns. I asked the cashier if i was able to use my points on my app for my order and they told me no, it’s solely for the app. I walked out after that because after 3 times of trying to give my business, it’s clear they care more about rigid policies than customer satisfaction. The food may be decent, but the inflexible service and poorly implemented rewards system make it not worth the hassle. If you’re looking for a place that values its customers and offers a smoother experience, I’d suggest...
Read moreSo, curious as to whether this was worth the drive, about 30 miles from my home base, I tripped up to Saugerties for a lunch test of Buns Burgers. Lunch special (Tuesday through Friday) is a burger with hand cut shoestring fries and a small (22 oz) drink from their dispenser, all for $9.95. That is for a cheeseburger, a veggie burger, or a yard (chicken) sandwich. For an extra dollar, you can have a lamb burger, and there's another choice, but I forgot it. The burger is small (about 4 oz), but tasty. When you are getting napkins, get some extras, because you're going to need it. The bun (a soft bun with an egg wash exterior) deteriorated about halfway through the sandwich, and I ended up finishing the last half with my fingers on bare meat. The fries were tasty and crisp, So crisp that using a fork to pick them up would, no doubt, break them into pieces. The soda was a Dr. Pepper, other choices includes iced tea, coke, diet coke, etc. So, was it worth the drive? Probably not, but, if I'm within three miles of the place and hungry, I...
Read moreTLDR; Terrible burgers made to be health-conscious (grass-fed, gluten free, locally sourced, etc.); amazing fries tho! This was a stop by after hiking upstate. I appreciated the effort to provide top ingredients but the flavor about every dish was a complete letdown (except for their fries). Order at the countertop at the front and seat yourself at the table with your number. When ready the staff brought out the food. Original Bun (2/5): The original quarter pounder texture was off and had no taste had it not been accompanied with the Bun Sauce that provided some sort of flavor. Dirty Bird (2/5): The breading to the chicken was done well with a great flavor and crunch. However, the chicken itself was very stringy (woody breast). Thereby indicating the low quality of meat that was sourced. Vanilla shake (2/5): It was just thick and tasteless. Fries (5/5): I asked for the fries well done and they delivered! The fries are very skinny and had a lovely saltiness and crunch to them. The bucket it plenty to share...
