My wife and I are up from Lancaster, PA for the wine tour, and we were looking for a place to chill and maybe grab a snack before calling it a night on Friday. We found this place, and after a quick round the block drive we parked in a lot half a block away. We sat at the bar, had a couple of drinks and the spinach artichoke dip. Good food, good bar service, and the menu looked good and really reasonably priced. Actually, I'll admit, for the really nice and clean atmosphere, I expected much more expensive prices. We decided we wanted dinner there after the tour the next night. It was later and we ended up at a high top table by the bar. There was to be live music from 8-10. We ordered drinks that were brought to us quickly by a server who said our actual server would be with us shortly. (This ended up being the only bad part of our experience, the server.) Can't really recall her name, but it started with a C. Anyway, she took our appetizer order and was off to put that in, as my wife takes forever to decide on meals. (Honestly, anyone out there have a perfect couple that both decide on a meal quickly? There's always one person who just needs that extra minute.). She comes back with the soup and potato skins and we order meals. The skins were exactly what I expected and good. The French onion soup was so incredibly amazing I was jealous my wife ordered it and not myself. (Seriously, I'm hoping it wasn't just a good batch, because now I'll probably tell everyone about it and suggest it.) Or entrees arrived, and after the server left, we realized my wife never got her salad. (This is the bad part.) At first I fingered in a moment she would come back to make sure the steak was done to my wife's liking. (It was, by the way. Perfect mid rare.) She did not return after a couple of minutes. So then I tried to flag her down. Obviously she was busy, but if she was over sat, then why didn't she get help? We waited for about four minutes before I finally got her attention, just as I was going to get up and go to her. Anyone who works in food service knows about the wait exaggeration: you only actually wait for five minutes, but when you relate the experience, you say you waited over ten minutes. So, four minutes felt like ten. She apologized and promptly returned with a salad with the wrong dressing. She rectified that quickly and then we didn't see her for the rest of our meal. Fortunately, the live music had started, so I was distracted from my table full of empty plates for the next 20 minutes. (See what I did there. It was probably only 10.) The duo called themselves Volcano. Well, they were pretty good, though not explosively or bubbling magma hot like, but good. They played a collection of covers that reminded me of high school. After a couple of songs, the waitress finally came to check on us, and I asked for the check. After she dropped the check, she came around every three minutes to see if I had put some currency down. My wife and I stayed until they began their second set. I liked all the songs they choose until they played Red Hot Chili Peppers. I never did like RHCP. Oh well. Overall, the place was really great. The bar is clean and friendly. The bathrooms are clean. Prices were incredibly reasonable to the point of being inexpensive, and the food was amazing. One not great server does not ruin everything for me, and when we come back this way, I'll return for sure. And, I'm telling friends. But the poor service did earn the four...
Read moreI would like to start by saying we have always LOVED Parker’s. We don’t get out to Seneca Falls often enough in my opinion. That was until our last 3 visits. We stay up in Seneca Falls for the week of Empire Farm Days. During that time, we frequent Parker’s because we love their food and service. Granted, this week is a SUPER busy week for all of the business in Seneca Falls, so I always give them the benefit of doubt. With all that being said, my family, friends and I visited them 3 times this past week.. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Some of the times we were as small of a group of 5 or 6 people (2 times) and then a group of 14 the next. I know that the larger the group, the harder it can be to serve/cook food for. The first time we were there (Sunday around 3) it was not very busy. We ordered our food and it was relatively quick and served warm. My wrap (Eliza) was pretty tiny, with very little chicken.. but that happens. Everyone else’s meals were great! On Tuesday, there were 6 of us. It was much busier, as we were there around 6:30. 2 of the people in my group orders burgers and they both ordered them medium well. BOTH burgers were practically rare. The next night, we were with a large group. 5 of the people in the group ordered burgers. 2 were cooked as ordered, 1 was a touch too rare and the other 2 were practically raw, AGAIN. They did offer PB pie, but my husband (who had 2 raw burgers, 2 nights in a row) wouldn’t eat most of his meal and refused PB pie bc he simply lost his appetite. I understand undercooked burgers can happen, but it shouldn’t be happening that often. We are very highly disappointed and hoping some changes are made to fix this, or we probably...
Read moreI came here with my family for a birthday dinner. They were quite busy, but we ran into some issues while we were there. I have some severe allergies which I notified my waitress of first thing. She said it was not a problem at all, and then I placed my order and when it showed up to the table they had made it wrong, which was not a big deal. I just asked them to send it back and make it so that I was able to eat it. I am all allergic to selfish as well as I cannot have dairy. The food was brought out with cheese on it, which made it unable to eat. When I handed her back the dish she came back and told me I also cannot eat the fries because they share a fryer with the shrimp. She had already handed me the dish and would’ve walked away and had me eat. It could’ve led to anaphylaxis. That was pretty concerning when they brought my food back out. They took away all the sides didn’t even give me the replacement side and brought me what my brother-in-law called me a children’s meal. I’m not sure if they were upset because I had to send it back, but I only do so if it is related to a dietary restriction. That should be drained on allergies and restrictions and what is OK to serve and what is not. I’m assuming she did not write my allergies down on my order like she was supposed to because it took until her coming back with my second order to tell me that I cannot eat the fries. Luckily I didn’t eat any of them off of my family member plates because this was about 10 minutes into everybody else getting food. All in all I would not come back and either with my family, we were quite...
