That’s some expensive ramen for cheap noodles! They literally use the cheapest ramen noodles you can get at the store. The broth is flavorless, the meat is nothing special, the eggs are decent though. The sushi looks good but once you bite into it you can tell it’s either old or made with poor rice. I wouldn’t be giving it such a bad review if it wasn’t so expensive! $16 for a bowl of cheap miso ramen?! Miso on its own is cheap to make! And the bowl itself is small! Take it from someone who lived in Japan for 3 years and went to a local ramen shop every weekend! Now, obviously ramen in Sheboygan won’t ever be as good as ramen from Okinawa or Tokyo, but they could’ve used better noodles and made a better broth at least. And lowered the price. This place is far too expensive for what you get. Also, if you want good authentic ramen, go to umi’s. They’re actually Japanese locals. I can say their sushi can compete with the sushi from Japan. Literally the only difference is the freshness of the fish because we can’t get salt water fish and eel fresh from the sea here in Sheboygan. In Okinawa they could bring it in locally everyday straight from the ocean. Other than that umi’s is absolutely incredible. And not...
Read moreWent today for lunch take out- was quoted a 25(ish) minute wait. Waited 50min to an hour, with no explanation or apology. Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. It was busy and lunch rush. Got home realized my order was wrong, called to have it corrected. Was even willing to come back to have it done correctly. No such thing was offered or occurred. The host who took the order, didn’t as much as apologize for the wait or try to correct the order, then proceeded to tell me “I don’t remember you asking for that”. All in all, I ordered three poke bowls, two were incorrect, and were only given one set of silverware. I’m usually not super picky, and I try to support local. First few months are always the hardest. At the bare minimum an apology would have been nice. But tone, and comments like “you saw we were really busy”, “it can happen”, and “I don’t think you said that” are not great ways for customer...
Read moreI've been here twice. Once for the poke, Once for the ramen.
Food: Ingredients are freshly thawed from the freezer to the dish.
Poke: Shrimp was bland, cold, and rubbery. Bowl was a mesh of ingredients randomly thrown together. Something you'd see on a plate at a Chinese buffet line.
Ramen: Char siu and boiled egg was still cold even though the broth was hot. The pork fat is supposed to melt, not feel like a greasy gummy bear.
Service: Depends on who you get. One time, the server completely forgot they were serving us. Took an hour to get our food and never came to refill our water. Had to ask the other servers for assistance.
Another time, the server did much better. They were there asap, and got our food out within 20min
Both times I went were during lunch, and there were only 2-3 other tables.
Last words: Save your $20 for a...
