Rockwells Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Smithtown

Went there last night for the first time and will never return. First let me start by saying the waitress Danielle was super sweet and great at her job, and the food runner was great. The food itself was very bland. The biggest problem was who I'm assuming was the manager/bartender on staff. My sister in law has a ptsd service dog and called the establishment to see if they allow them before coming in. The dog was in a clearly marked vest. The manager proceeds to ask for paperwork and clearly stated "I know by law I'm not allowed to ask what he does, but what does he do, why is he up on the seat, what organization does your paperwork come from, ect". As she was looking at the card and asking these questions, she was very belittling and disrespectful saying a service dog would be on the floor and she is a dog lover too and made us all feel very uncomfortable. My sister in law complied and answered her questions and put Marley on the floor, but the request should have been handled in a much more professional manor, instead of making us feel like we are liars and unwelcome. OK went there more than a few times for a drink and a bite to eat. When I sat at the bar I had no problem with service, food, or with any of the bartenders. Few nights ago I went there around 11 pm for a late night beer. There were a lot of empty stools at the bar, but due to the noisy and boisterous 20 somethings I sat almost to the end of the bar away from them. I then waited for the bartender (guy with a crewcut) across from me to come around to serve me. At the time he was talking to 2 women and a man across where I was sitting. The bar wasn't busy at all. More than 10 minutes later there was no acknowledgement, and he was still talking. I gave him 5 or more minutes and unfortunately he was still rapping to the folks across from me. I came here to relax for an hour or so but left the place with my beer and pretty much frustrated. For him to totally ignore me and everyone else was inexcusable especially during not so busy time. I would come back for the 2fers and happy hour prices! Our party of 6 had so much food and a couple of drinks and the total was less than $60! The waitress and hostess were really friendly and nice. Waitress was definitely a sweetheart and knew how to entertain a crowd! The place was really crowded when we went last Friday night. If it weren't for the cheap prices, their place would just be alright because their food isn't completely delicious. If you're not looking for a really tasty meal but just something to fill your stomach and have a couple of drinks, this is the place for you!

appetizers-- buffalo wings: didn't have that much meat on them.. nachos-- huge plate of nachos with LOTS of toppings, meat, olives, lettuce, tomato, the good stuff. gets really messy! sliders -- order has 3 of them, they were alright tasting..with fried onion rings on top of the patty. chicken egg-- these were also just okay, not much flavor except the beans overpower the entire thing.
