This is the deli I take all of my out of state friends to so they understand what a New York Deli is all about. I have been going to this deli for somewhere around 5 or 6 years and I think in that time I have only received one sandwich that was just slightly less than excellent. In fact, I think everything they make is so excellent that after a while I let them make whatever they wanted to make for me fully knowing that anything they make would be fantastic. We call this the German Roulette. In fact I think it inspires them to make their best possible creations and honestly while every server has his or her own style, they are all in their own way amazing. They always stack the meat high. The subs are always massive. They offer plenty of tasty veggies in their giant salad containers. Friends have claimed that their fresh squeezed orange juice is the nectar of the gods. Their staff is super polite and friendly and they all treat me like a good friend, and ultimately I would rather have someone I know and enjoy make me my food. Iv'e been getting their breakfast bowls a lot recently because first of all whats better than a layer of seasoned potatoes, juicy bacon, and scallions with a runny fried egg on top? No, I can't think of a better way to start the day either. While a lot of their prices can be expensive (the breakfast bowls are rather cheap especially considering the "bagel shop" that will not be named right down the road will charge you double for the same thing) you can trust that the quality is well beyond the other two delis in the area. Plus I really don't like dry chewy eggs I get from other delis around here. I'm very fortunate to have such an amazing deli in my life, and although I don't live in Westhampton anymore, I take every chance I get to stop and get food there. Do yourself a favor and stop on by the Sunset Delicatessen aka the German Deli. (And order a German Roulette if you feel risky and don't have any allergies or food items you don't like. They will...
Read moreOn the way to the beach, my friend and I stopped to get ourselves lunch for later. I ordered myself tuna on a bagel. You can only imagine my shock when I was charged $14! Highway robbery! I immediately thought that was the cost of my bagel AND my friendâs bagel who ordered one as well, but no. A can of tuna at most is a few dollars as well as a bagel. Where do you get off charging $14 for tuna on a bagel? Are you a deli to the stars? Shameful!! In this economic climate where many people are unable to put food on the table for their children, choosing between formula and diapers, giving up their beloved pets, it is an absolute outrage and disgrace that you would charge such an exorbitant amount for tuna on a bagel JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN. Next time I go to the beach, I will stop at another deli that doesnât charge $14 for tuna on a bagel. I will not patronize a deli that cares so little for its customers. And I know for a fact, because Iâve ordered this many times, there are many other delis that donât charge $14 for tuna on a bagel. You should be ashamed of yourselves! And if youâre going to charge $14 for tuna on a bagel, please make sure itâs the most delicious bagel ever. I can assure you, yours was not....
Read moreLet me start out by saying the Food is great. Full stop. Totally order from here.
As far as ordering pick up using Uber eats goes: when I got there, they seem to have completely forgotten about my order so I stood there and waited for 10 minutes when another woman come in also saying she used Uber and they gave her her food right away when I asked one of the gentlemen behind the counter if he was sure that was her food he said yes sheâs a customer pick up assuming that I was an Uber driver I was not an Uber driver and I had to explain to him that I also was doing customer pick up. having said all that does that mean that Customer pick ups get prioritized over an Uber driver? shouldnât an order be completed in the order it was received? I ended up standing there for 25 minutes which defeats the purpose of ordering online. The food is great, but if you canât handle the online orders, then just donât do it. I understand you donât wanna be using the phone to take orders which is totally understandable but limit yourself to one order pick up method and save yourself...
