Been here a few times and I have tried a few different items. My favorite so far is the lemon linzer tart and jelly filed cookies with sprinkles. I tried a chocolate pastry of which I can't recall the name and I did not care for it. I also do not like the vegan chocolate chip cookies. I think they may have raised the prices because just 3 cookies cost $15 and change and they were not anything better than what I can make at home. I like the atmosphere but it's small and not much seating and most of the time the center table is covered with what appears to be work papers and supplies. What I dislike most about this place is the lack of knowledge. One day I was charged twice and I told the owner and she was dismissive and insistent I wasn't even though I showed her the transactions in my bank account, which I later had to end up disputing because she was either having issues with the machine or didn't know how to use technology. On another occasion I went in and asked for all chocolate chip cookies but ended up with oatmeal raisin and my kids were very disappointed. The owner is also moody/rude at times. We all have bad days I get it but when you are running a business, especially in the Hamptons, you need to always have your game face on. I'm definitely not a frequent visitor but at $5/cookie for a small cookie, not the large ones, I may just keep on...
Read moreI live in Sag Harbor and made the drive (in summer traffic) hoping for delicious vegan pastries. When we arrived around 10 am all they had vegan was a croissant. We were disappointed. They said they didn't have anything vegan because "it's Wednesday" which in that case I guess don't open on Wednesdays? The online vegan menu shows Chocolate Chip Cookie, Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie, Passion-Filled Tarts: Apple Vanilla, Caramel Almond, Chocolate Praline, Lemon, Pear Chocolate, Raspberry, Vegan Carrot Muffin, Vegan Croissant, Vegan Lemon Loaf, Vegan Parfait. To find nothing was a disappointment. We had the croissant, tbh it was a little stale and the inside underdone. Fortunately, Barryville Market around the corner has a cute coffee shop with a vegan pastry case that had very tasty vegan pastries. I might give Millstone Lane another try down the road but I certainly wouldn't head to Southampton again just to try it. Also, I'd probably call in advance to see if they actually have any...
Read moreHaving grown-up in Brooklyn and traveled a fair amount a throughout our world, I know what good restaurants and bakeries are. Windmill Lane Bakery is one of the finest! Karolin, well she is the owner, the “butcher, the baker, the butcher, the candlestick maker” the dishwasher, and short she does it all! And she does it all in a super fashion. Karolin is so gracious and maintains a people and pet friendly shop! I will be visiting again especially for the apple fritter, gluten free and vegan specialty items. What a lovely shop to sit with a coffee and one of her delicacies. Judge...
