DO NOT stay here. The positive reviews are misleading we had a very bad experience at this hotel.
The staff we encountered, especially at the front desk, were unfriendly, rude, and surprisingly uninformed about basic hotel operations. Upon check-in, we were told our room wouldn’t be ready until 4 PM (the late side for check-in), so we decided to wait by the pool, but were given zero information on anything. No directions to amenities, no details about towels, poolside service, or anything else that would have made the wait more comfortable. We were offered to check our suitcases but when we weren’t comfortable leaving them unattended in the lobby until the front desk staff could put them away we were met with major attitude.
Our room was clean but outdated and only accessible via a steep staircase. By pure luck, we met the manager of housekeeping who was a kind and helpful man who offered to carry our suitcases upstairs. Only then did we learn that guests could request help with luggage, something the front desk never mentioned. Despite all of these things the worst part was the NOISE. We did not get one night of restful sleep and we were woken up every morning by either doors slamming 5-10x or lawn work at 8:20 AM, also there was loud chatter and yelling at night. We later found out they have no quiet hours (when we called the front desk she did not even know what quiet hours were and I had to explain them to her). For the price of the stay SAVE YOUR MONEY and book somewhere else that would be more worth it.
Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and dismissive attitude of the staff made this a deeply disappointing stay. We will never be returning... If you like...
Read moreJust off Hill Street, around the corner from the Southampton Theatre is Claude's at the Southampton Inn. This is a great find and a delightful experience whether you join them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Breakfast served on the outdoor terrace is exceptionally pleasant. The menu offers traditional favorites, and I have enjoyed their Sausage Biscuits and Gravy, Steak and Eggs and Quiche the most while my husband always enjoys Eggs Benedict. For lunch, my suggestion is sitting up by the pool bar and select something from their All Day Dining Menu. Whether you are in the mood for just soup and salad orca club sandwich, there are plenty of items to satisfy your appetite. And you can also to get a day pass and enjoy both their beautiful pool and tennis facilities. On my recent visit, we opted for dinner in the main dining room. The decor is comfortably contemporary and done in soft blues and grays that give it a coastal feel. We chose to start with a charcuterie board. It has a nice variety of cheeses, fig spread, tapenade, and crackers. When it arrived, we both remarked, "We will never finish all of this." But we did! For dinner, I enjoyed the marinated hanger steak, and my husband chose the Pineapple Glazed Salmon. Both entrees were exceptional included our potatoes and grilled zucchini. Rainbow Micro Greens topped off our dishes adding an excellent layer of flavors. Truly a lovely meal in a delightful setting to enjoy any day or night of the year. And they have weekend events by the pool area and live music on Thursdays. Do check their website and...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE... JEWELRY STOLEN from our luggage that was delivered by Southampton Inn to UPS across the street. Luggage sat in the Southampton Inn office overnight (we checked out on a day that UPS was closed and they offered to take the luggage across the street to UPS the following morning so it could be shipped back to us in CA). Our mistake for putting jewelry in the luggage but we trusted them with our belongings and wish we hadn't. NO help from Southampton Inn, no call back--had to follow up a week after first call. Security footage is no longer available according to manager Ed Moan who had zero curiosity, no apology, no questions about the incident and simply said, "our staff didn't do this--I know them all". Security camera footage "no longer available" (convenient) yet we called over a week ago but got no response or call back. He was extremely defensive. You would think they would want to know details and which employee possibly did this to protect other guests from THEFT. The lack of care and communication is telling and can't help but think this may be due to prior incidents of THEFT. Otherwise, why wouldn't they want to know about this and look into it? And if this is the first time something like this happened, wouldn't you feel terrible and show empathy and at least apologize for the situation? Decency would...
