Mooney's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Tonawanda

Yesterday, was my first visit to Mooney's, but will not be my last. I've heard that they were famous for Mac 'n cheese...but I did not expect to order it. After seeing someone else's order go by me, I was sold. I had the nicest server any patron could ask for. She definitely made an impression on me, due her politeness, appearance and knowledge....but I am drawing a blank on her name. I am 90% sure it was Kim or Kimberly K. I am a true believer in the fact that one has to like their job to do it well. Kim (i hope im getting her name right) clearly takes her job seriously. Her work ethic and attitude showed me that she didn't have the "just a job mentality". You could tell she cared about her work. Moving on. The Mac 'n cheese i picked, after looking over at least 15 choices, was the chicken BLT. It was amazing!!! It was better than amazing!!! I'm glad I picked that and look forward to trying all the other varieties of the meal. I walked out (or rolled), as satisfied as can be. From my first interaction, to my last...I rate Mooey's with 5 stars. Service was exceptional, portions were fair and the price was great. I loved it and can't wait...

We have patronized Mooney's since they opened in 2010.

Waited about 45 minutes for a table even though they were not that busy and had a number of empty tables.

Ordered food and waited another 45 minutes.

I ordered the stuffed banana pepper Mac and cheese with steak, which was excellant. The problem came with my son's sandwich which had 3 different doneness of fries and a roll which was overcooked to be unedible. He has 10 years experience cooking in those sort of restaurants so he knows what is acceptable. Admittedly he made a comment about the roll being harder than his ... and the waitress took immediate offense.

Certainly if she's working in a sports bar she has heard worse from customers and staff. Apparently the waitress may be in the wrong line of work if that upset her.

Upon speaking with the manager, he could not have cared less about our issue.

While they took the sandwich off our bill, I still will not return to Mooney's. I have stopped patronizing many companies for far less. They have grown to 9 locations but have apparently forgotten what is most important ......

Service was horrible food was even worse I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich and was given a two slices of steak'um with a slice of cheese raw onions on a bun sent it back and ordered a grilled cheese how can you mess up a grilled cheese? The grilled cheese that tasted like the cheese was left out in the refrigerator the taste of whatever was in the big refrigerator. Then the waitress who barely came to our table to check on us to see how we were doing refuse to take it off the check she went to ask the manager who also refused to take it off the check and charged for it anyway which was fine but when we ask for the sandwich back to at least give it to a dog it already been thrown away so we asked for another sandwich to be made that we could take for we still had to pay so we waited another 30 minutes after waiting so long for a food originally. I would not suggest going to this location if you like Mooney's I would suggest going to the one out in the Eastern Hills Mall where the food is better and the service is excellent this location has a dive bar feel to it save your time and money and go to...
