I have been going to the Jolly Cow for many years. No I was never a regular, since I never lived close by. And I have not visited the Jolly Cow in a few years now. But I will say that other than mostly parking changes, nothing is really a whole lot different. They are just your local ice cream stand with the warm weather treats folks crave. I stopped in recently and enjoyed their version of a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I think it was called a Razzle (sp?) They did it a little differently though. They didn't mix as much candy into the ice cream as others. But they did mix in some. Then they gave a good size topping of my chosen candy. I have to admit, it was different. It took me a little bit to figure out to eat it differently. But I really liked it. The ice cream seemed of good flavor, so I suspect they do use quality cream. One thing I never liked was Jolly Cows location right off of route 9W, close to the route 209 interchange. Yes it's probably one of the reasons for their success. But it can be difficult to get in and out of. It was much quieter decades ago when my parents first brought us there. I also worry about the kids wandering out there. But most folks take the kids in the back to the tables to avoid any hazards. The Jolly Cow does not take credit cards (cash only). But they do have an ATM on the side of the building. They also do not have customer restrooms on site. With that said: The Jolly Cow has a decent array of treats for your choosing. My small Razzle (sp?) cost me $4.50 in July 2023. It was by no means cheap for a the smallest Razzle. I could go buy a half gallon of ice cream for less. But it's not the same as the soft ice cream and candy mixed in, treat. It's also not the same as enjoying your treat at the ice cream stand. It really is more about the experience than just having an ice cream. The Jolly Cow has been a part of my life, on and off for many years. It lets me relive my childhood when ever I stop in. And if you haven't figured it out, I do...
Read moreI been putting this off for a long time..years. I grew up having jolly cow with my family and it used to be kinda of a tradition. I moved by Canada and have my own family and I try to bring my children here to keep a happy memory going. I wish I could say positive things on my review. But the owner really needs to start being more picky on who he or she decides to hire. Today before heading home like usual my family came to get ice cream before a long drive and it was the final straw with my patience with these girls that get hired. Absolutely rude, stuck up, and just don't pay attention and may I say it again.... RUDE and major attitude issues. It's not just one of the girls its all the ones I've dealt with this season. Every single interaction was the same, rude rude rude rude. Especially today the girl with black hair and glasses. I asked about a type of ice cream before ordering if it was soft she said yes and came back with hard and when we said that's not what we ordered got a huge attitude and made snarky, rude comments. Ice it's cream calm down... my children shouldn't be exposed to such behaviors. It's supposed to be a friendly family environment and it's just not that no more and hasn't been for years. If you don't like your job and your that...
Read moreThis place always has friendly people working and they have great quality ice cream for a great price. They have a very large menu of items to choose from, and even have some basic food items like hot dogs and soda, although I've never gotten either from here. On the menu, there is a large assortment of toppings to choose from and dips. Also, there sizes are larger compared to other places. The medium size ice cream is what a typical large would be, and their large is extremely large! The first time I ordered from here, I got a large and I wasn't sure I'd be able to eat all of it. The only bad thing I have to say is that if you get the ice cream in a cup, it tends to be a bit smaller than if you ordered it in a cone. Overall, I highly recommend Jolly Cow for your ice...
