Five Guys — Restaurant in Town of Union

Clean location with a good amount of space to eat in. The cajun fries seemed fresh too, but under-seasoned. I went on 5/29/25 around 7:30pm.

Unfortunately, those are all of the good things about this first and last visit for me. I walked into the restaurant and was welcomed with all of their on-duty staff yelling at each other about negative work related issues that should not have been talked about with customers present, let alone aggressively being exchanged in the open. Obviously, I used the kiosk to order. The restaurant was pretty much empty, with 1 or 2 people walking in to pick up or order, and 2-3 others sitting to eat. For some reason, my simple order of fries and a bacon burger in a bowl took well over 10 minutes to make AND it wasn't until I got home that I saw my order was missing half of the toppings I had requested, plus the burger meat was dry and overcooked. To top off this experience, I can't be absolutely sure but since there weren't many people in the restaurant and the workers were making suggestive comments at me while I was waiting for my order as well, one of the workers whistled at me as I left. Overwhelmingly professional.

Needless to say, I'll be going to the Vestal location from now...

This place is great. It's a real stand up burger joint. Not just cause of the franchise, but because of the people working there. been here a couple times now and the team behind the counter is always working hard and as a team, like a well oiled machine. They make sure peoples orders are taken, they make sure they get them right, and they get it out as quickly as they can. They dont play. And they've got charisma! You'll hear them chatting and joshing each other sometimes, like every good work crew should. They're a legit squad. Not to mention, last time i was there, turns out they had an extra burger patty that was just going to get thrown out, so they asked if anyone wanted it. I said sure, i'll take it - and not only did they give it to me for free, but they took a whole order. "You want anything on that? cheese or plain? no cheese, okay. how about ketchup or mayonnaise? probably better than dry, right?" I was practically floored. That was above and beyond. not only did they not waste the food, but they were also very thoughtful and made a very happy customer. Really appreciate these guys. I was so excied that five guys was coming closer to my work. My co worker went two weeks ago and was not happy with her burger. I understand that there are good days and bad days. When I went on 2/27/25 they must have had a really bad day. My burger was tasteless and semi pink. Cajun fries were soggy and not good at all. Way to many pickles on my burger and I love pickles. The next day my daughter went and basically the same thing. Cajun fries were soggy and not cooked or crispy. My son in laws burger was not good he said. I felt so bad b/c they had such an emotionally challenging day and were so hungry and excited for the food. I love five guys, but if they do not step it up, I will not go back.
