Upon arrival on a Friday evening @6:30 we were told that it was a ten minute wait. No problem. But he could have said to check out the bar (around the corner out of sight}. We spent a few minutes reviewing the menus posted on the wall in the hallway when I wandered into the dining area and discovered the bar empty! Okay, we ordered drinks that were made and served quickly by a friendly tender. Good start! Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. We were seated in a good amount of time as promised in a nice booth in the corner. The waitress was prompt and friendly. She was knowledgeable and answered the wife's gluton free questions with confidence. We had already settled on what we wanted so the appetizer special was ordered and she ordered the chicken salitimbocca and I the stuffed sole. I thought it odd that the salads were served before the appetizer, but ok, no big deal as long as it arrived before and not after the entrees. After waiting what seemed like a very long time, and at a time when our waitress was checking with us (she was very attentive and apologetic) I asked if they had to kill the chicken for the wife's meal or catch the fish for mine? She apologized profusely and promised the appetizer was forthcoming. We overheard that the threesome in the booth next to us had two of the three served but that the thirds meal "was coming soon." When it was finally delivered they asked for a discount which was denied. During all of this (two hours start to finish) we observed MANY call out orders coming out of the kitchen to the bar for pick up. Our appetizer finally arrived, was hot and was very tasty. No complaint about the food or flavor. But again, another VERY long wait, and more apologies from our waitress. I actually felt bad for her! She was covered in flour from helping out in the kitchen evidently. She delivered the entrees eventually, and again, the food was well prepared, hot and flavorful. I did ask that my drink be "on the house" as compensation for waiting so long for our meal to which she responded that she had already gotten that approval. Would she have offered if I hadn't asked? I still left her a nice tip because she worked for it. Unfortunately, I think that management gives priority to call out orders instead of those of us who took the time to drive over and stop in. For that reason we will NOT be back. Pricing was fair and reasonable, our waitress was awesome (Asst Mgr Mara) but they really need to get their...
Read moreThis should be taken as constructive criticism. I ordered the linguini and clams in white sauce tonight (so you know the kitchen staff working tonight). What I got was dissapointing to say the least. There was maybe more than an entire bulb of garlic where each clove was only cut in half - so about 20-30 huge chunks of garlic, I should have taken a photo I've never seen anything like it. Not even the brown root part of the garlic clove was removed... that's just lazy. The dish did not taste garlicky even with an entire bulb because the garlic was raw. The white sauce was pure butter, I don't think even a splash of white wine. The dish came with a good amount of chopped clams that were dumped on top from a can, not even mixed in and the chopped clams I could hardly chew through. I understand how this was prepared - precooked pasta heated up with butter and raw garlic thrown in and topped with a can of chopped clams. This dish could be so much better! Make an actual white sauce with shallots and wine and chopped anchovies or anything would have made this dish better! I would have been embarrassed to serve this in my home let alone to a paying customer. Please let the chef know - you should take pride in the food you prepare. I would have gladly waited longer for you to take your time and prepare a proper linguini and clams. I don't think we will be returning...
Read moreI came to try this new place out on Friday night. When we walked in, we were pleased with the atmosphere. We were seated immediately. Once looking over the menu i decided i wanted to try the Hawaiian pizza and my boyfriend wanted the steak sandwich. We were assured by our waitress that our food would be out shortly. Then we were told they were out of pineapple. So I ordered a cheese pizza and the waiting process restarted. We were delivered our cheese pizza and steak sandwich and began eating when SPLAT!! There goes our pizza and the stand right on the floor.. slid right off the glass tabletop and by the way, watch out for the booth in the back on the left, the table wobbles! Awesome experience to have the whole restaurant stop eating and stare at you. The waitress hurried over to clean it up and assure us another pizza was on the way. 3rd time waiting for a pizza. As for the owner, he WAS there and did not say a word to us.. not about the lack of items to make a pizza on their menu, not about the splat pizza and sure not about himself sitting right outside the door smoking a cigarette as we exited with our now to go pizza. The least he could have done is apologize or offer a discount. To be fair the pizza...
