We stopped in for a quick lunch, curious as to what experience a Lebanese restaurant in New York's Southern Tier might offer. We were NOT disappointed. The Lamb Kebob Platter was more than reasonably priced (although it is one of the higher priced offerings on the menu.) The meal was superb. The lamb chunks were delicately seasoned, but of greatest importance, were tender as can be. One might expect a simple storefront restaurant on a busy highway to have such a dish somewhat dried out and overcooked. Not here. The wooden skewers were chock full of delectable morsels. There were a few onion slices for added flavor but not -- as has been our experience in other venues -- used to stretch out the meat. The entree came with three of these skewers, a pleasant surprise as I would have been satisfied with only two. The rice (one of two sides) was tasty and nicely done. The stuffed grape leaves were of a quality I have experienced at far fancier Greek or Middle Eastern restaurants. A note about the service is indicated here. It was pleasant enough, but the real test came when my companion, who requested no onions on his grilled chicken salad, found small slices of red onions in the salad mix that was the dish's bed. (He eschews onions). My own thought was that there was a miscommunication, that cooked onions (as the menu photo indicated were part of the dish) were excluded as requested. But can one really expect the restaurant to pick through the salad mix and remove the slivers that were included? There was no protest, no excuse, just a replacement of the dish (though it took a few minutes of course) with one devoid of any sort of onion. There is not much that is fancy about the ambience (and with food like this who cares) but there are nice little touches, including the photos/posters of Lebanese venues on the walls and cute little flowers in small vases on the tables. I look forward to returning and sampling more of this restaurant's menu, and highly...
Read moreGreat customer service but we come to a restaurant for the quality of the food and being refreshly made. I've tried their baked zatar and meat pie, and unfortunately I regretfully say they are absolutely the worst, they were dry and smelled strange, not sure what happened to the olive oil but whatever oil they were using was disgusting. You couldn't even taste the zatar. The meat pie had no flavor, I've also ordered chicken sharawma with rice, chicken tasted like it was put through a microwave for five minutes, watery and bland. This restaurant does not represent the flavor, yet alone the ingredients of Lebanon. I am extremely disappointed by the poor quality of the food, I was looking forward to a...
Read moreFood was excellent. Traveled from out of state and needed some Mediterranean food and found this place. It had parking and was easily accessible off the major road. The place seemed new and inside was clean with a friendly atmosphere. I like how they decorated it with plant and the take area was well lit with seats and very visually appealing menu. Cashier was knowledgeable and made some great recommendations. Price was as expected, authentic meal tend to be priced a little higher. I would definitely go back and this will be my place when I visit this side of town.
Good job to the chef and keep up the good work. I had the Chicken Tawook that came with Pita, Hummus and Tabbouleh (this was...
