Giovanni's Pizza & Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Wappinger

My daughter and I decided to do take out and delivery tonight as neither one of us felt like cooking (dreary day and all during this craziness) ( I don't normally do delivery service) we ordered very simply a Large Cheese Pie and a Shrimp Parmigiana Dinner which we shared and a side salad. all i can say is OMG the food was absolutely Amazing! it was very Hot when it arrived and my 2 grand children went crazy for the Pizza. my little grandson who can be a little fuss budget :) said nanny please you have to order from there again i love the thin crust and it tasted soooo good LOL I almost fell over laughing that he noticed that. the Shrimp Parm was fresh and the best we ever tasted and i order that for my dinner in a lot of restaurants. lastly i know this may sound silly but the Salad was actually the freshest most tasty salad i have ever ordered in a very long time crisp and beyond perfect! my delivery man was very sweet and i felt bad he had to come out in the rain tonight. So the shallow people who are leaving some of these lame reviews should perhaps take a back seat and see what out restaurant owners are actually going through during this horrible Pandemic. I personally can not wait until this is over as my daughter and grand kids want to check out Giovanni's for an amazing sit down dinner, that's how happy we were with our meal tonight. And one of the things my amazing dad taught me way back in the day was Mo believe half of what you read and none of what you hear! so I hope people form their own opinion on the reviews because life can not make...

I’m posting this review only because I refuse to order from this establishment anymore. They’re basically committing robbery to an extent, I ordered half a tray of pasta and was quoted $35 like it states on their menu. I arrive to pick it up and it came out to $45. I didn’t think anything of it as I assumed someone else in our group ordered something but it wasn’t. We called and they were rude and gave an excuse that because we ordered a different sauce that they up charged us $10. I’ve had a few other issues with this restaurant until now. Previously I ordered a sandwich, two-three weeks ago. I specifically asked for BBQ Sauce, bacon and chicken. I ended up getting that with salad put on the sandwich as well. I walked in and ordered a margarita slice to stay. I talked with a extremely nice regular while I waited for it to be done. She only had nice things to say. 5 minutes later the man I ordered from brought the slice to my table, I grabbed a drink, and then bit into the pizza only to burn my tongue. It was so good that I did it again. It wasn’t burnt to where it hurt, it was burnt to where I felt like I had just eaten 12 pounds of pineapple. You know what I mean. I drank some of the sweet tea and was fine. After I was done I payed and began to walk away. Before I could get two steps towards the door a guy who I assumed owned the place said “you dropped your money”. I looked down and lo and behold I had. I thanked him and left.
