Boneyard had off night tonight for us.
Experience a longer than normal wait being served while other parties coming in âafterâ us had orders taken first and served first while my wife and I waited nearly 30 minutes to have someone ask us for our order.
Then my wifeâs order was served incorrectly and we had to wait longer for her order to be made and brought out while I had my entre on the table.
We were seated between 2 other tables with more people. It would have been nice for the next tableâs waitress to notice that we have not yet been served yet but she went about her business ignoring us.
Finally another waitress noticed I was trying to get the attention of anyone who could take our order and she took our order. Typically we would wait for drinks to be served then order our entrees after but the waitress suggested we order our food at the same time. Which we did.
Meanwhile, the table next to us had a slight mishap with some quac accidentally tipping over and falling on the clothing of one of the patrons. Someone immediately came over, Iâm assuming a manager, and offered complimentary drinks to that table. But no manager asking us how we were or any acknowledgement that we were waiting longer than expected when other parties coming in after us already had drinks ordered and served and then having to wait longer than expected for an order that was served incorrectly.
Boneyard has had great service in the past for the most part, but tonight they missed the mark again for my wife and I hoping to have a pleasant experience but left somewhat disappointed.
The waitress to her credit was very nice and had tried to make up for the longer wait time we experienced but when the wrong order came out as well, Iâm sure the feeling was quite awkward as she already knew we were somewhat unhappy with the start of our dining experience.
It didnât seem like this was a short handed situation as other tables had been served before us while we waited for someone to acknowledge us.
I didnât skimp out on a 20% tip as I didnât want our waitress to feel she didnât do her best. But it was just one of those nights where they just didnât get it right from the start for us.
I definitely felt out of sorts with Boneyard tonight and hope we have a better dining experience next...
Read moreThis review is prefaced with the fact that I posted a passionate post on yelp with no racism or intent of being cheap but the owner not only flagged my post and got it removed but also said what I posted was shameful. This speaks volumes for the type of owner he is and also the type of person he is. Typically if a customer posts a review disturbed by an inability to simply place a phone order, the owner would respond apologizing and offer some sort of incentive to return. Then when a customer explains how they feel that the ownerâs staff added extra jalapeño out of spite after ordering âlightâ jalapeño, they would queue an investigation. Instead, Keith (the equivalent of âKarenâ) claims that I had an issue with a Mexican accent AND was upset about paying for extra salsa which if you read my review was not my point.
First of all, Iâm married to a woman of Latin descent so insinuating, even despite the lack of intellect to decipher my point of frustration from someone not being able to receive an order VS. me being upset about an âaccentâ, is just childish, immature, and unprofessional. If you are the owner of an establishment and offer to take orders over the phone then perhaps the person receiving said orders should be able to receive them. As per my post, I was unable to place an order because the person on the phone could not understand me. Even upon driving to the restaurant, wasting time and keeping my family famished after a long day of school and work, the employee struggled to understand my requests. I work in construction so Spanglish is typically mandatory and accepted as a non derogatory method of communication, as per my post which was removed due to Keith, I struggled to relay my order even with Spanglish.
I am not surprised by the low class response I got from this business owner evading the true error encountered and lack of customer service. Clearly anyone maintaining these standards of âserviceâ knows nothing of the industry and is squeaking by in an area that accepts subpar ârestaurantsâ like this. Seriously, this guy couldnât run a bagged mango operation on the street at the tunnel in Manhattan as they provide better service...
Read moreWe found this spot on Google Maps after visiting a winery in Warwick, and weâre so glad we did. Itâs tucked away on the second floor of an old building, so it took a minute to find (no large storefront), but once inside, the space really impressed us. The dining room is full of character, with a spacious layout, a beautiful bar, and hand-painted murals of Katrinas, mariachis, and other vibrant Mexican imagery. You can tell the owner put serious thought and care into making it feel special, adding plants, and other modern design aesthetics, to make the place unique.
The music vibe was 90s rock, fun and unexpected. My wife ordered the Birria tacos, I had the Chile Relleno, and our kids went with chicken fingers and a beef taco (nice to see a kids menu!).
Iâm a bit picky with Mexican food, and I did hesitate ordering the Chile Relleno because itâs easy to mess up..but they NAILED IT!!! The pepper was fresh and perfectly cooked, the Oaxaca cheese melted just right, and the breading had the ideal texture. Iâd give it a 10/10 and would 100% order it again.
I believe the owner waited on us..she was kind, patient, and welcoming. We only had beer to drink this time, but the margarita menu looked legit, and the tequila/mezcal selection behind the bar was huge. I told my wife I wished I could hang out and sip mezcal for three more hours, but I was driving, so⊠no bueno.
We shared a flan for dessert, and it was excellent. The flavor was spot-on, and the texture was rich and almost bread-pudding-like. We seriously considered ordering a second one.
Bottom line: If youâre in the area and craving high-quality, authentic Mexican food in a beautiful, welcoming space â go here. You...
