This is our first visit to The Fed in Warwick. We elected to take a seat at the bar, as we have found that is always a good first impression of the staff and the demeanor of the establishment. I would like to first point out the decor and the overall vibe of The Fed. It is a well done aesthetic, that feels very upscale, especially for Warwick NY. Attention to details abound and the high ceilings are spectacular. Also happy to see the lavatory was impeccably clean - other restaurants in Warwick take note, it is important to clean the bathroom. But we were not here for an Architecture or cleanliness review. On to drinks and food - The staff at the bar appeared happy, gave generous pours, and were extremely attentive and chatty enough, but not too much. The on tap beer selection was nice, and the cocktail menu was intriguing and watching the staff mix them - you could tell they cared. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, the sausage souvlaki with oregeno truffle fries and a feta burger with plain fries. We also received a homemade pita with olives and tapenade - which were delicious. Our order on the burger was wrong upon deliery and that happens, so we had to wait for it to be re-done, and I started my souvlaki. The staff was apologetic and cared and got the balance of our food as quickly as possibe. Impressions, delivery and aesthetic of the presentation was spot on - and now it pains me to say, the food lacked flavor. Calamari - done to a crispy goodness, but lacked a whole lot of seasoning and flavor. While it might have been prepared that way to highlight the three dipping sauces - a little seasoning of the batter would have helped. Souvlaki - I love sausage, I have made my own sausage - this dish was sadly flat. The sausage had zero flavor that one would expect from a well prepared sausuge link. The yougurt sauce, was also very bland. The truffle fries need their own paragraph - I fully expected the fries to be tossed with truffle and oregeno - but what I got was a standard fries and heaping amounts of oregeno flake on top with the truffle topping. We went from blad offerings to overly seasoned. The burger on arrival was cooked to perfection and there was zero downside to it ! What we are lacking here is a bit of balance and consistency. Also, and I hope the couple that was sitting diagonal across from us reads this. Plesase, in the future do not put your filthy purse and three phones, that have been, who knows where on the bar top where folks are eating. Its disgusting - and sadly the staff did not make them remove them. Also if you do not know what tapenade is don't make faces when told what it is, and a sad wast of some fine olives. Look, The Fed has serious potential for an upscale night out, locally. We will be back for another go around and see if this was just a one off bad night - hopefully it is. But until such time as we have a better experience, I have to give it the rating I am now. Nothing would please me more than to update this with some glowing reports - maybe I will be able to do that. The Fed is a fine addition to Warwick's Main Street and is probably just having growing pains.

My significant other and I have passed by The Fed a few times on way to our usual Warwick spot spot Eddies Roadhouse and decided to give it a try for a special occasion. Walking inside the restaurant, which is a former bank, gave off a chic Midtown Manhattan vibe with high ceilings and a trendy seating arrangement. The lighting is the right amount of dim. We were seated at the bar immediately on schedule for our reservation. The seating is very comfortable and there was generous space at the bar providing an intimate atmosphere with my partner because of the high and low table top set ups in between patrons. The cocktails are fantastic and creative, I had the negroni and my partner had the hot toddy. The bartenders are professionals, our drinks came in the blink of an eye on a very busy night. We ordered the veggie fritters with yogurt dill sauce and the 8 hour octopus over bean salad to start. Both generously portioned for sharing. Both were fantastic in terms of taste and quality. We shared a bottle of the Greek white wine they offer called Assyrtiko, it has a minerally taste with acidity that is a perfect compliment to the menu. It kind of tastes like the sea. For our main course we each had the Hellenic Frites. I got the steak skewers and she had the Halibut. Both were cooked perfectly and the fries with the seasoned side of grilled veggies and garlic mashed potatoes (Skordalia) reminded us of being in Greece at a Taverna in a small village. Finally, we each had a Chocolate Martini for dessert that were delicious and perfectly crafted. They also had some fantastic food desserts on the menu, however we felt too full to order. We we definitely be returning to try the Brunch menu.

Great dining, great atmosphere, great drinks…We were in Warwick last weekend, and the restaurant had just opened, I think it may have been the first day it opened its doors. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a high intricate ceiling, a wrap around bar in the center and an overall lounge-like ambience. It was once a bank, and has retained much of its charm from a bygone era. For a night out to celebrate or a cozy couples evening The Fed definitely has an upscale yet warm environment. The staff was very attentive, and the cocktails were top notch. I particularly recommend the espresso martini and mastiha mint. We came hungry so ordered so many items….the standouts were the souvlaki pita bites, they were beyond tasty, well dressed and tender, the sauce brought it all together so well, and the pitas are homemade! The smash burgers were huge and juicy, very generous portions. The Cajun and truffle fries were the best I’ve had in a long time, couldn’t stop eating them. The halibut skewers were also delicious, in addition to the 8 hr octopus. The sliders were also juicy and tender. The deconstructed moussaka was so creative and flavorful, yet still light compared to the heaviness of a traditional moussaka. We are looking forward to returning for more :-) so glad to have The Fed as a much needed addition to the dining experience in the town of Warwick, and we look forward to supporting our local businesses. Will post again next time!

We had dinner at The Fed tonight for my husband's birthday. We had heard very good things about it and it always looks so elegant and sophisticated and yet cozy in the window when we walk by. We were not disappointed! The food was outstanding, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is all the things we thought. I have several dietary restrictions and they went above and beyond to accommodate them. In fact, our server, Gina, had made a list of notes about what she thought I could have when we arrived because she had seen my dietary restrictions on our reservation note! This was so kind of her and she went over the menu and answered many questions and double checked with the kitchen and they made me a delicious dinner with the substitutions I needed. To start, my husband had a beer and I had a glass of wine and both were delicious. I had the grilled vegetables which were absolutely delicious too. My husband had the fried calamari which he said was delicious and he ate it all. For dinner I had the halibut souvlaki made with the substitutions I needed, including a gluten free bun and a salad. It was SO good! The halibut was tender and so tasty. They made and oil and vinegar dressing for me for my salad and it was outstanding. The tomatoes on the salad we marinated I think...they were so yummy and tender and I was not expecting that to be the case in the winter. My husband had the slow cooked pork rib sandwich and fries and he also said it was very good and was happy. Neither of us had room for dessert after all that, but I doubt they had anything I could have anyway with my crazy restrictions. The atmosphere is sophisticated and has a metropolitan feel while still feeling cozy and not at all stuffy. I'm very happy about this awesome addition to Warwick. We...
