It's a beautiful renovation from the old & dated equipment that once occupied the park. However, it is very congested. The equipment is in close proximity to each other which allows very little room for free space, unless that space is still in the works cause I did notice an area closed off. It's easy to see how some kids would be overstimulated with the amount of equipment in such proximity to one another. The toddler section was the best thought out area. I spent less than an hour there & witnessed several kids thrown off the carousel which I'm sure had to do with the 15 kids that were on it all at once. Many of them were older kids that were inappropriately riding & spinning the ride while the younger kids tried to hold on or climbing inside the wrong way up the slide. I don't know the level of expertise involved by the members who consisted of the planning committee but they should consider an area for young adults. That would help with the inappropriate age ranges in certain sections. Also it would be nice to have some sort of awning for adults who would like to be close to their kids while they're playing on the rides & not baking in the sun (unless you're looking to tan while there). I didn't get to use the bathrooms so I can't speak on their condition. I also thought they would've implemented some sort of safety measure alongside that stream for younger & special needs children. They should also consider a sign with park etiquette since basic courtesy to others seemed to be a rarity there as well...that goes for the children & adults alike. Other than that, it was a nice distraction for the kids...
Read moreNewly renovated and constructed park! The project was completed this Spring (2019) and is a vast improvement over the previous structures, both in design (all-inclusive and accessible) and materials.
There are so many nooks and crannies for the kids to explore! There is more seating available for the adults than in the previous version of the park, but still needs more spaces close to the playground (on its busiest days, one would be hard-pressed to find a spot to rest). The water fountain, generously donated by the Lions Club, is a lifesaver, even if the Lion's mouth is a spider hole.
Only downside comes from a supervision standpoint, as the bathroom access is not always available (sometimes one or both is locked) and the older children, who have yet to cherish this space, are particularly abusive of the equipment. Beyond that, everyone gets along and plays nicely with each other! What a...
