This was my absolute last visit to this establishment. It’s bizarre that they remain open. The food is 4/10 with high rates. Our waiter was robotic no personality made our group feel uncomfortable. I’ve lived in Warwick for almost twenty years now and to be treated the way I am at Grappa is disturbing and borderline discriminatory. My group and I decided to go out for an easy dinner and we’re told by the hostesses there is no room for us while the outdoor seemed somewhat empty. Members in my group were persistent on eating there and eventually the restaurant made room for us in their upstairs dinning room which they said was full. When we preceded to the upstairs dining room it was completely empty! We were shocked. We still don’t understand what the reasons were they didn’t want to seat us except discriminatory ones. After being seated we were told we need to leave at a certain time. Upon exiting the hostess told us she’s glad we were leaving?! Now to the food: Our check was well over $600 and the food was worth $100:
Food: Tuna tartare is made with low quality tuna as it taste very fishy, lemon doesn’t help and it’s not really red it’s pinky grey. Pizza must be made w cheap jar garlic due to the fact that it’s inedible bc of how heavy the garlic is. Salad had a lot of rotten gooey pieces. Burrata is very plasticy seems cheap and store bought. My pasta was so cold the cheese that they shredded and put on top just sat there cold. Cold pasta with cold cheese is what they charge NYC prices for. Filet mignon peppercorn sauce was decent however the steak was cold, completely ice cold in the center. The special fish dish, fish tasted like it came out of a chemical plant. Plasticy cheap frozen fish taste that even salt and lemon couldn’t help. The bread rolls are delicious with that said, the cheese and zucchini they serve with it seemed to be saved from other tables due to the fact of seeing BITTEN and chewed pieces! At this point I was embarrassed that I brought guests here. I learned that because they are 1 of very few restaurants in the village and within walking distance to the surrounding homes they know this and have been allowed to continue this type of service and disgusting tactics with what appeared to be reusing some of the items. Makes me regret all the years I given them my hard earned money and support....
Read moreGrappa used to be my favorite Italian restaurant, but tonight’s disappointing visit changed my view. This was one of my favorite places to come for the perfect special occasion. My boyfriend and I had our first date here, four years ago. The service, food, and drinks were all spectacular. We returned tonight for our 4 year anniversary and were disappointed with a mediocre experience. After waiting 10+ minutes for our table we had made a reservation for, we were handed menus with no drink menu. After waiting for a drink menu and ordering our drinks, we waited, and waited and waited some more.. until another table near us was seated ~5mins after us and served their drinks quite a while before we got ours. Our appetizers even came out before our drinks.. never a good sign. The appetizers were great. We were not told the specials, but had to ask if there were any specials after being asked if he knew what we wanted. Our entrees came out and unfortunately our $48 steak was way over cooked and over seared. It sat on our table for at least 10 minutes before our server came to ask how everything was. We told him about the wrong temperate (there was barely any pink at all, with a totally black charred outside, and we ordered it medium). He did not ask if we wanted a new steak refired. Simply took away the dish and never asked if we wanted anything else. When he took away the overcooked steak I asked to see the drink menu. He totally forgot and never came back. When he finally did we were not asked if we wanted dessert. At this point we were pretty annoyed and just asked for the check. The establishment could have made at least another $100+ on our bill if they were more diligent. I left feeling annoyed at a restaurant I could not wait to return to. I would give the experience tonight a 3/5 at best, but leaving this review as a 4/5 because I understand bad nights happen, and I have had much better experiences in the past. I would recommend going for lunch or during the week when they are not as busy so you can get...
Read moreIt was my first time visiting this lovely restaurant!!!! Atmosphere and service were outstanding My water was refilled many times Stuff went above and beyond I had martini and was really good and ordered linguine with clams in white wine sauce my friend ordered ravioli with short ribs !!! Absolutely delish When I started eating my fish I felt that clams were not washed properly and there was visible dirt on the inside of the shell I managed to scoop some of the clams out of the shells but I was not able to finish dish because wine sauce had plenty of dirt from clams Dish was absolutely delicious I informed my server and he said he will inform kitchen stuff He pointed out to visible dirt on the inside of the shell too That’s it 36$ dish It was disappointing at least Owner was walking around and he spoke to us at the beginning of my visit he even took my drink order which was really nice Clearly my server didn’t informed him about my dish Wish I could talk with him directly about my issue but at that time he wasn’t around I left with aftertaste They didn’t offered dessert on the house or discount from the bill I’ve dined in many upscale restaurants in NYC and I know customer service is everything How restaurants handle situations like this tells me all I wish someone would come and talk to me how we can make this whole experience better !!! That would mean the world to me !!!!
Clams most likely wasn’t soaked in water before serving to me and it’s a shame because I was craving linguini with clams for awhile now I’m not gonna let this one hiccup destroy my overall experience with restaurant I will definitely be back because it’s a great place and stuff was super attentive Most likely servers are not authorized to give discount unless it’s approved by management so I’m completely not blaming him because like I said before he went above and beyond to attend...
