I've been to this bar twice and twice I've been disappointed. I had high hopes because so many people speak highly of this place, not sure what they experienced but this wasn't true for me. My first experience was for a quick beer, ordered a beer on tap, nothing fancy and immediately knew something was off about the taste of the beer but I drank it and left upon completion. My second chance I decided to grab a drink and some food, but let me tell you was I disappointed... I again ordered the same beer as my previous visit giving the benefit of the doubt and yet again it was flat and sour. I'll give credit to the bartender and server who by the way was the only worker in-site for the whole bar, who noticed I hadn't had my beer and offered another suggesting he knew the beer wasn't popular and had complaints before. Upon obtaining my second beer I took a sip and to my disgust was an indescribable green/brown blob. I wish I could tell you what it was but to my dismay I'm not sure if it was a bug, mold, or snot. I was so disgusted my stomach churned and wanted to throw up. My immediate thought was to ask for water but at that point I trusted nothing that didn't come from a sealed bottle. I ordered boneless wings, something so simple how can you screw up, I mean cmon I was expecting them to come from a bag frozen, but geez what did I receive... battered chicken cutlets cut into thin pieces that were so tough it was like jerky. The menus were made on excel and printed covered by the staples store plastic paper protectors, and the specials were written in sharpie on a paper and photo copied. Listen I don't mind this from a place undergoing a revamp, or to put on newly added menu items, but for a place that has been around a long time it's just plain embarrassing to not have actual menus. This place may have been a great bar at one time but it's clear to me the owners have given up as it's in dire need of updating, repairs and a...
Read moreI've driven by this place for the past 10 years and I'm kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. It's probably one of the most friendliest and welcoming bars/restaurant I've been to in town. From the second my friend and I walked in people were saying hi and were being helpful and they didn't even work there they were regulars who noticed a new face. So nice. Now let me talk about Claire our waitress who was freaking amazing, seriously what a sweet soul. We chatted for a while about our travels and our love for Ireland and their Guinness. She was the best and even bought us a round. So needless to say the beer was nice and cold. We had several appetizers that were delicious. The teriyaki garlic wings are a must. So glad we stopped in and will...
Read moreHad Lunch at AJ's yesterday, 03/01/28, with my neighbor. I finally found someone in this area that knows how to cook Pub food! My Steak Sandwich was great & the Onion Rings & Sweet Potato Fries were perfect. I asked for my Steak to be medium rare & it was!!! The Onion Soup was outrageously great. I just reheated my leftovers for Lunch. It was almost as good as yesterday.
Our Waitress/Bartender, Claire, could not have been nicer or more friendly - she made it fun to be there. It is a relaxed atmosphere with a large area of tables for dining outside. We are both looking forwsrd to Spring. ...
