Suburban Wines & Spirits — Restaurant in Town of Yorktown

I was driving from CT to meet a friend in this area and I decided to stop at this shop to pick up some drinks. When trying to make my purchase, I had not one but four employees inspect my license. Their reasoning was that the store has a policy on "vertical licenses" . I have had this license since I was 16 and it does not expire until September 2020 when I turn 22. As a minor, the your first license is vertical however, there is a bright red banner across the license which displays the date that you turn 21. My license is valid and was scanned however I was denied because of the direction my license was facing. I understand that I am from out of state and it is not a license that they are used to seeing but I am of age and the license clearly states when I became of age to drink. It was beyond embarrassing and disrespectful to have 4 employees inspecting my VALID license only to be denied because of the direction my license faced. I would never come here again even if I lived in the area. Horrible...
