The Chocolate B'ar of Townsend — Restaurant in Townsend

This is the loveliest little shop. My family stopped here on our recent vacation. The lady there was so friendly and nice. We tried and bought absolutely amazing fudge, as well as the best chocolates I may have ever eaten. Usually my husband is the fudge eater. I’m not generally a fan. But the raspberry swirled and the orange cream were both absolutely amazing! The salted caramel chocolate was phenomenal, as were the other chocolates I bought; raspberry, orange, and even the blueberry, though it was white chocolate and automatically my least favorite of the bunch. I just bit into the cinnamon and I wish I’d purchased so so many of those! If I ever find myself near enough to stop again I will buy so many! That one I’m going to be thinking of for ages!

There were also baked goods and even preserves. The raspberry pepper jelly is fantastic. I wish I’d bought more. Just in general I cannot say enough good things about this place. I wish I were closer. It would be my favorite spot to get myself a little treat...

The chocolate and dessert selection is fantastic, and everything we’ve tried so far is delicious. Very impressed with the quality and flavors! Especially love the turtle that is a turtle! =D

The young guy who waited on us was friendly and personable, and made every effort to package everything nicely.

My only critique is the layout and ambiance. The place is very quiet. No music or noise at all, which for me is sort of awkward. I thought the way things were laid out was kind of strange, like candy cases were very far apart on each side of the room, and I like to see baked goods displayed better, not already prepackaged in the case. Just my own preferences and observations, and nothing that would keep me from coming back.

Overall, a great shop! I already want to come back for...

We have driven past here so many times, and kept saying that we would try it sometime. Well today was that day after our visit to Cades Cove. The place is bigger than it looks, is cozy inside, clean and the gentleman there was very friendly and professional. There's a nice assortment of little candies to choose from to which I made sure to grab a few. My kids enjoyed the ice cream, my significant other had the tiramasu cake while I ate the chocolate ganache tart. They were absolutley delicious. I had some of the chocolate on the way home and wow. Just Wow. It was very very good. I agree with the others who say to stop in and satisfy your sweet tooth. Next time I'll be trying some coffee and getting more chocolate! What an absolute gem...
