Poke Bros. — Restaurant in Tredyffrin Township

I usually order from West Chester location, never had a problem with them, decided to order from Paoli location through Grubhub (GH), I received the poke bowl with good amount of ingredients missing, since I’m aware of their portions from my previous experiences I reported this to GH and since they couldn’t reorder for me, GH just issued a refund instead, I went ahead and reordered it with the intent of getting my order prepared properly this time.

Couple minutes later I get a call from a lady from Paoli Poke Bros, she was complaining to me how I shouldn’t have reported the issue, how they don’t get paid when things get reported like this, how she didn’t do anything wrong, that I should’ve picked more ingredients to fill up my bowl and she won’t make my next order if I’m going to report it again, I explained her that half my bowl was empty, how I’m familiar with their portions and this was very unusual for me, but the lady continued to complain about GH not paying them.

Both of my orders were, spicy tuna, white rice, sriracha aioli, crispy onions, sesame seeds, edamame, avocado & cucumber. Decent amount of various ingredients.

Not too long after that I received my second order and it was nothing like the first bowl, there was proper amount of all of the ingredients and it wasn’t cold unlike first time around, I really enjoyed the food as always however a restaurant owner/employee can’t be calling my phone, complain about how they now have to deal with GH, that they won’t make my order if I don’t just take what they give me and borderline...

If I could give this place a negative number, I would. By far the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. From the time we entered and said hello, the woman behind the counter barely acknowledged us. They had half the space (including the area with the beverages and bathrooms) blocked by a row of chairs. Our bowls were about half filled compared to what I've gotten at other poke places. The employee started making the first bowl however she wanted without asking about choices.We had to stop her and she was not happy. I asked what the ice tea types were because I could not read labels from behind the chair wall. She did not answer. She was clearly angry when I came around the chair barrier to look. The food was fresh, but not spectacular. My bowl, what little there was, was largely rice. Finally, I asked to use the restroom and she flat out refused to allow me to use their bathroom. What kind of restaurant does that after you patronize them? Why are you in the restaurant business with this sort of attitude? Now I understand why nobody was...

This is the second time I’ve tried the poke at poke bros. The first time, I doordashed it. About 20 minutes after eating, I was extremely nauseous and ended up vomiting. I eat sushi all the time, so I just told myself I must have a stomach bug. I felt better after the food was out of me. Today, I decided to try it again as I was in the area. On my drive home after eating, I felt the same exact feeling and thought I wouldn’t be able to make it home without vomiting in my car. Thankfully I made it. I know the raw spicy tuna and salmon can’t be the most fresh at a place like this, but it shouldn’t be making people sick. And this is coming from someone who can eat anything and never has any stomach issues. I will definitely not be returning and hopefully no one else has this issue. Twice in a row makes me think there is something wrong...
