9 Mar 2020** update
This place has portion control issues.
My wife ordered an appetizer for one. The plate of food that came out would have fed three maybe four people. The appetizer did not state it was to share. The meat was dried out but was ok once one smothered it in cheese and guacamole.
I had a burger. It presented as average. The burger and fries where also a portion control issue. Two people could have shared the burger and mound of spuds served. I did not feel well after eating moots this meal. It sat in the stomach like a rock.
The reason I gave two stars and not one star was the server. She was prompt, polite, spoke with clear diction, enunciation and cadence. We will avoid this over priced below average eatery. The beer was acceptable. 17 Sep 2018 **
Disappointing. My wife had chicken and waffle and I had a cajun chicken sandwich with fries.
My wife's chicken was dry and tough though it was spicy. The waffle was way to large and not enough syrup to balance the hard dry areas of the waffle. The moist portions of the waffle were pretty good. Most of the waffle and some of the chicken were left behind. Price to value was not there. To much food, not enough quality.
My spicy cajun chicken sandwich was dry, little spice and had very little sauce. The chicken was sliced which was nice. The bun was bigger then the piece of chicken required. I asked for mustard for my fries and used most if it for the sandwich. Again, portion control problems. The fries were acceptable but to many, so some were left behind.
We both had water and the glasses were clean as was the silverware. We did not check the bathrooms for cleanliness.
In all, the price to value is not there. Way over priced for what one receives. It is unlikely we will return...
Read moreI typically have had excellent food and service at TJ's. Today was a completely different experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was somewhat empty but filled up quickly. We sat and we waited and waited and waited some more for our food to arrive. In the meantime, five tables who were seated after us received their food. During this time, no one came to check on us or to tell us there was an issue or delay with our food. We had to flag someone down to get a status on our food. Once our food arrived, my husband's food was piping hot, but mine was cold. It was apparent that his order was lost somehow but mine sat while they made his food, yet no one told us just served the food. We again had to flag someone down to bring their attention to this. The owner then delivered my new food and apologized for the cold food, but no mention of the delay in getting our order. During this time no one came to check on us, make sure everything was ok, or even offer to refill our drinks. Even after I put my glass on the outer edge of the table, no one came to refill. We then had to flag someone down to get our check and had to ask for a box. I understand there are staffing issues with many restaurants, but no one else in the restaurant seems to suffer any delays besides us. It would have been a whole different story if they were up front with us and told us the order was lost or there was an issues. It was our first visit eat inside a restaurant in over a year. And, it was the first time in my entire life that I left no tip. Unfortunately I will think twice before...
Read moreUNBELIEVABLE Incident! I went in to pick up an on line order, while the bartender (who was the only employee on the floor) went to the back. Another gentleman walked in. He was there to pick up a call in order. When attempting to sit in a bar stool, it slide across the floor and the elderly gentleman fell down rather hard. I ran to assist him and at that time a waitress and saw him on the floor. She asked if he was okay and ran into the kitchen. She came back and asked if he needed ice or wanted to talk to a manager. He said he was okay but the chair should be looked at. A man named Chris came out of the kitchen with his dinner. He never asked the customer if he was okay. When the bartender handed him back his credit card and ask if he was okay, he said someone should look at the chair. The owner/manager Chris looked at the elderly man and said maybe it was your insufficient shoes. Standing as to intimidate the older man. The man was wearing Topsiders. As soon as the man left Chris put the stool right back and never examined it. His head missed the waitress-counter by less than an inch which could have killed him. I think the greasy floor and skinny metal legged chair made it slide across the floor almost resulting in a serious injury. The owner/manager could not have cared at all. He just ate his meal after rudely dismissing the gentleman. If this is how you feel about your customer's you should not work in a customer service industry. The below response from the owner...
