This is one of the best restaurants on the main line. You may be wondering why I’m giving one of my favorite restaurants a one star review. I ordered the bao buns which are usually incredible. Today I got 3 orders of bao buns and they were ice cold. I mean they gave me old refrigerated meat on some sloppy buns. I feel disrespected normally I would demand a full refund. This time I decided to leave a review and never return to my favorite restaurant. This place isn’t cheap. You could easily spend 30-70 dollars. No reason for this level of food to be served.
Update: I called them back the next morning which is April 7th, to tell them my bao buns were cold. The meat was cold and had fat that had hardened on it. They told me the buns were supposed to be cold. I ordered these buns since last summer 30 times they have never been cold. He said they changed it to being cold, which was total BS. He didn’t offer me refund or the item done right. He offered me nothing and was rude. I try me best to treat everyone respectfully. The way I was treated sucks now I have to find a new place to get my sushi from. This place was good and is close to my house. But they can’t serve old pork belly from their fridge that clearly isn’t even fresh. I’m disgusted and angry at how bad the customer service was.
Final Update: Today April 10th the manager contacted me, she told me she heard I had a complaint and she aimed to fix it. She sent me over 2 orders of bao buns what’s were warm and delicious. I appreciate them reaching out to me to fix the issue. No kitchen, or staff is perfect. But listening to your customers and fixing the problem is the best resolution to human error we can ask for. I update this review to 4 stars. Sushi Nani is my favorite place for ramen, sushi...
Read moreNom Nom Japanese Restaurant in Paoli has permanently closed and a new Sushi Nami Japanese Restaurant has opened in its space under the management of the Sushi Nami restaurant in Wayne.
They offer a wide selection sushi along with a number of robust and hearty Ramen bowls just right for staving off the chill of an Autumn eve.
Unfortunately the dining-in experience is dreadful. The first time we visited, we waited 90 MINUTES [!] for our appetizers to come out---tonight it was AN HOUR!! Worse yet, both times we had to call the delays attention to the staff---they were too far occupied with the comings and goings of take out customers, some of whom we witnessed place their orders and leave with it whike we waited...and waited... Both times we were one of only three couples dining in. Nevertheless they blamed the delay on "the crowd" on our first visit (this time they admitted the kitchen had lost our order).
Other nuisances: they ran out of iced green tva (both times) and tonight apologized that our Mochi desserts were partially melted---then served them and charged us for them!
Don't get me wrong: the food is great and the staff is friendly, albeit inattentive. But it's going to be a long, long time before we choose to sit a long, long time watching people who come in after us walk away...
Read moreLet me begin by saying sushi has been a staple in my life and diet for well over 7 years. I’ll consistently find places that blow my expectations out of the water, but today is an all time win. First, The ambiance is relaxing and completely stress-free. It’s literally delightful to just be here… But then your food arrives in front of you and elevates the experience all the more. The fish literally melts in your mouth. This is THE freshest and most delicious fish I’ve ever had. Yes, ever! The chirashi dish started me off (an unbelievable $10 from the lunch selection) which was delightfully paired with either soup or salad. The quality of fish and flavors are the most notable part of this journey which brought me to share this experience with you all. I also ordered a spicy kani roll and salmon avocado roll for yet again another expectation-shattering experience! *200 out of 10 experience for the freshest and yummiest sushi to date. Side note: The thai tea is also among the best i’ve ever sampled. Overall, take yourself and your family to enjoy this phenomenal Japanese experience. You will be extremely grateful...
