I have been here twice now. The first time was a couple weeks ago and the food was great but the service was terrible. I ordered a drink then the table next to us ordered drinks and their waitress told them there was a special on the drinks if they wanted a bigger size….our waitress did not tell us that. Our waitress hardly ever came to our table either. This past time we went our service was way better and the food was great again BUT, the other waitresses, who look to only be at least 16 and were being VERY disrespectful to the point of us not wanting to come back. They were talking very rudely about someone they know saying “he’s so ugly it’s embarrassing.”. They were even saying his name which I will not put out there. They were not even trying to be quiet when talking about this person…the whole restaurant could hear them. When we got up to leave we left a cash tip on the table and walked up to the counter to pay. There were 3 employees sitting at the table by the counter and they all stopped talking and started staring when we walked up. Once we paid we put a small tip on our card as well since we didn’t have much cash. When we gave back the receipt and started walking out we heard the employee at the counter say “WOW” very loudly when she took the merchant copy back. It is very unfortunate about the staff the owners have chosen to work here since the...
Read moreSo I met up with some good friends from high school tonight and we met at El Barzon. I have frequented this establishment along with my family often so when it was recommended we meet and eat there this evening we all agreed. We arrived, all ordered dinner talked and laughed and paid our bill. It has been a long time since we had seen each other so we were there 2 hours. However we all tipped extra for the time we occupied the table. We were asked to leave once but didn't really hear fully what the manager said. Then he came back around and made sure he knew we heard him. He said you need to leave because we need this table, we have other guests waiting! Now I got up and looked, there were not people streaming out the door and there were other tables open. Our family has held many occasions there. That will be the last time for me! Veracruz in Middletown is better anyway. In all of my travels, I have never been asked to get up and leave because they...
Read moreThe place was busy, but the service was excellent! I ordered a combo with a chicken quesadilla, a chicken burrito with refried beans and rice. I had a 22 oz draft beer 🍺 that was ice cold. My wife had a chicken quesadilla, a chicken Taco and refried beans with rice. She had a margarita. We talked for about 15-20 mins while we snacked on the chips and salsa and sipped our drinks. The atmosphere was excellent and friendly. When our food arrived, it was hot, fresh and smelled great. We ate until we were both full and then realized we hadn't touched the quesadillas. We ended leaving with both in a doggie bag for a later meal. You get plenty of food for your money. Overall the place was excellent and friendly and the food was amazing. Great atmosphere and attention from the waiter. I...
