Move over, Starbucks, there's a new sheriff in Trenton brewing up espresso shots that'll make your heart literally skip a beat! State Street Coffee is the local gem that's been hiding in plain sight, serving up brewed liquid gold. My first visit won't be my last, thanks to Amelia, the barista extraordinaire who seems to have a sixth sense for crafting the perfect drink. She recommended their Strawberry Shortcake espresso (with an extra shot, because why not live life on the edge?). It was so good, but his wasn't just any espresso; it was a double-double dose of deliciousness. In fact, I learned all espresso shots at State Street are doubles, so it was a double-double and worth every palpitation. If you're looking for a coffee shop that's locally owned, ridiculously charming, and serves up espresso that'll make you want to do a happy dance, then State Street Coffee is your new caffeine haven. New(ish) hidden gem in Trenton! My husband and I pass through Trenton off and on to visit family. We live about 20 minutes away but we’ve always complained that there’s nowhere good to get coffee nearby in Trenton. Now I stand corrected! I got an iced Americano with extra half-and-half and sugar free white chocolate and butter toffee. It was chef’s kiss! So delicious. They serve Yield coffee and espresso, which I feel is roasted perfectly, it’s smooth but has some strength. The decor is perfect, modern, with some rustic touches, very clean and welcoming. Next time I’m going to try some of their coffee or tea flights! If you have time to just chill, they have ceramic mugs for any hot drinks which is something I love! There is some thing about drinking a latte in a ceramic mug that’s just better! Highly recommend this place to any coffee snobs...

About midway on a jaunt to Oxford from Monroe -- which we do every couple weeks -- we found a great little place in Trenton, Ohio where we stopped for a mid-morning coffee and snack.

State Street Coffee Inc. is a cozy little place with a nice ambiance and very good coffee and pastries. My husband had a cinnamon roll and I chose a crumb cake. We both had a cappuccino, which was very good and hot. The pastries, much to our enjoyment, were heated for us, and we didn't have to ask for that to be done. They were both very good and rich, and fresh.

They have both tables and chairs and a little comfy sofa and easy chair in the back, by a little electric fireplace. Very nice.
