We wanted to change it up, so we tried them for takeout. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very loud door chime that said "hello" so that the small staff could know when someone entered. This is not a surprise as minimum wage in Colorado forces small businesses to function with increasingly smaller work forces.
At the register, we noticed several hand-written signs informing patrons of their return policy (basically that you couldn't unless most of the food remained at the time of the return). This should have indicated that they experience frequent dissatisfaction with their offerings. Another sign informed patrons that all food is served in containers, not a surprise for takeout, so we assumed that even in-house orders would be served in this manner.
None of us were happy with any portion of our meals. The spring rolls just tasted strange. Our soups (we each got a different selection) were all overcooked and also tasted strange. The rice provided was incredibly small for a dinner entrée and the fried rice was incredibly basic.
By the time we made it to the main course, everyone dug in with trepidation, and it was not ill-founded. The chicken was tough and stringy. Although the seasoning and flavoring were a little better than the other items, it did little to mask or makeup for the poor cooking and preparation.
I'm not one who likes to provide poor ratings, but the totality of the experience requires that I rate it accordingly. It is apparent that some appreciate the pricing and food, but it did not resonate...
Read moreAs Covid would have it this resturant only serves takeout. I can respect that (unlike other cities like colorado springs you can dine in. Call it paranoia maybe). I sat in the parking lot to place my order. I asked for my typical chinese dishes i.e. kung pao chicken with egg drop soup. Then i asked the order taker if they had General Tsao's chicken i was told that they do. However upon my opening the box i found it wasnt the chicken i ordered. Instead i was lied too and they served me a chicken and broccoli meal. So i ask anyone who reads this to make sure you get what you order. I wouldnt have ordered the dish had i known they didnt serve general tsao's chicken. Yes your right it wasnt on the menu but i asked and was told they had it. The Eggdrop soup was not the typical soup. It didnt taste like your normal egg drop this soup was mediocre at best as it s soup base was flavorless. The kung pao chicken dish was salty and really didnt have that flavor as i expected. I was told that the staff at the great wall left the competitor. Well its this one persons opinion that this establishments cooking staff needs to go to a chinese culinary school and actually learn the dishes. And not lie to customers and be honest. This was my first and only visit. Due to being lied too i will not return and...
Read moreI started with the egg drop soup, which was excellent. Very flavorful. I didn't care for the tea but my sister liked it fine. The orange chicken was great, the sesame chicken left a lot to be desired and the beef n broccoli was edible but I didn't care for it. My sister tried to exchange her sesame chicken for the orange chicken, but she said she can only add another order of chicken, no exchange. So we did that. She brought out our order. We ate, but filled up pretty quickly. We sat there about 20 more minutes, I even got up to use the restroom. She still hadn't come by or asked if we needed boxes. I kept trying to catch the waitress but she moved very quickly. The older lady was kind. We ended up having to go to the register to ask for boxes. But they still hadn't given us the check. We waited another 10 minutes just to finally decide to wait at the register. I don't know why she seemed to have an attitude, outside of the fact that when we first got seated we weren't ready to order. We bought 2 of their bracelets from the jewelry counter and she snatched the money from my hand. I just told her thank you and left because I didn't want to read too much into the situation. I won't be back to eat in, but I might occasionally pick me up a to go order of the...
