My girlfriend and I spent the 4th of July weekend in Bryce Canyon, UT. On 7/5, we went hiking at mossy cave trail and decided to find a restaurant nearby for breakfast. This is what brought us to Rustlers Restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the hateful energy was perceived, but I am one to give people the benefit of the doubt and also a chance to correct their behavior. When we arrived we sat in the waiting area waiting to be sat or even just greeted for more than 5 min the hostess walked past made eye contact with my girlfriend but still did not greet us, shortly after an older white man walked in he was immediately greeted and sat she then returned and asked us if we had been helped which was a pretty redundant question since you watched us sit here and new you didn’t help us but like I said I gave her the benefit of the doubt maybe she got busy? She sat us at our table and another server came to greet us and take our order she was very pleasant and I wish I got her name because I don’t want this review in anyway to reflect on her we later found out she was the acting manager so if that helps you identify her know that she was kind and her service was perfectly acceptable however this other server/hostess acted disgustingly our entire visit. After our server(manager) brought our drinks I forgot to ask for straws so when server(hostess) walked by I asked her for the straws she made eye contact with me as I asked but didn’t reply and kept walking so I wasn’t sure if she heard my request but she did in fact come back with the straws set them on the table without a word, I thanked her although she probably didn’t even hear me because she walked away as quickly as she dropped the straws to us. Weird behavior for someone in service, but again, I let it slide. Maybe she’s just in a hurry. After we finished our meal and paid our check my girlfriend noticed I hadn’t finished my drink I suggested we take it to go, I waited for our server(manager) but server(hostess) passed by first so I asked her for a to go cup she nodded and went to the back, when she returned she had plates of food for her table but no cup, no problem her hands were full right? She went to the back again and then returned to another table to close out their check, still no cup. She left and returned again to clear their table, no cup. She left returned again with cleaning supplies to clean the table, and she cleared still no cup. At this point I’m thinking surely she forgot so after she wiped the table I called out to her politely and said “excuse me” she made eye contact I began to say “ we asked you for a to go cup not sure if you forgot” but I couldn’t not finish my sentence because while I spoke and held her eye contact she continued to walk away and ignore me. That is when I could no longer make excuses for her behavior, and I got up to look for the manager. Her behavior and attitude were beyond nasty. I am unsure if her issue with us was that we were BLACK or that we were GAY. Regardless, the reason this is who is employed at Rustlers Restaurant, DO NOT EAT HERE THIS IS NOT A SAFE OR...
Read moreDon’t waste your money. After a day of sightseeing, we were looking forward to a good meal. Had seen this place when we drove thru town on the way to Kodachrome Basin state park so thought we’d give it a try. What a disappointment. It was dinner time. 5pm. Waited at the “please wait to be seated sign” for a long time before someone even came out to greet and seat us. They brought out some bread and a water pitcher. The bread was the only highlight- downhill from there. Looked over the menu and decided on an appetizer sampler platter and the Rustler burger. Not sure how you screw up an all deep fried appetizer - but they did. The wings were wrong - gave us spicy instead of bbq ones. Too spicy to eat for me. Mozzarella sticks were cooked so long the cheese burst out of them. Got jalapeño poppers even though they weren’t listed in the sampler. They were cold. The fried green bean were edible but greasy. Waitress seems like she didn’t understand English well. Had to ask twice for the bbq sauce and ranch sauce to go with the sampler. And she seemed annoyed at having to get. She then brought out a plate of wings. We explained we didn’t order any. She seemed confused and annoyed again. Then we waited 25mins for the Rustler burger to come out. It was over cooked and dry. Then waited about 15minutes to find someone to even ask for our bill. Then 10 more minutes for them to find someone who could take the mis-ordered wings off the bill. Ugh. Even while a lot of the help standing in the kitchen area chatting with each other. Seriously considered just leaving. Skip this place. Way overpriced for the food quality, food was bad and the service...
Read moreSlow terrible service, and skimpy food. We stopped by around 11am for a quick, light bite before hiking the canyon. When we arrived there was only one party of four in the restaurant and they were almost done with their food. We stood at the host station for more than 5 minutes before we finally saw an employee. He came over awkwardly and asked what time it was before seating us with our menus (laminated, not paper). As he was seating us he told the waitress that we were for her. She visibly blew him off and continued what she was doing on her phone or something. We sat in the booth waiting for more than 15 minutes, listening to her talking just around the corner. Finally the host poked his head around the corner and realized that the waitress had still not come to even offer us water. We were about to leave when she came over asking if we knew what we wanted to order. We ordered our food. A Chicken Caesar wrap with seasoned fries to share. The food arrived in decent time but was literally a single chicken strip and Caesar salad in a very dry flour tortilla. When we got our check the waitress told us that we were delayed because of how they were. Even though the other four people in the restaurant had already left and we had listened to her talking around the corner for the past half hour. My bad for not checking their ratings before hand though. Expect 3.0 service from this...
